How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Eris was so lovely and helpful, answering our questions and providing guidance on the town. The place was always warm when escaping the cold outside. Our room was comfortable. Breakfast was ready for when woke up for our early tours. Great location, only a few minutes into main town area.

Loved it here! We stayed before and after our trek and it was such a joy to come back to! Friendly staff, great kitchen and breakfast. Super cosy and comfortable

The second room we stayed in was a little small. Breakfast was basic and the bread provided wasn't the freshest but overall we had a good stay and great value
We stayed a night at this accommodation before and after the W trek. It was very clean and the host was very friendly. The first room we stayed in was big and the bathroom facilities were good. We were allowed to store our bags too which was a bonus

Convenient location; 20 min walk from bus station and quick walk to downtown. Very helpful desk staff and they stored our luggage while we were on the W trek.

No staff spoke English. The room is very basic.
Very nice and helpful stuff! You can cook yourself using the kitchen. They were very kind to allow us to check in earlier.

Due to a delay of our bus we arrived way after the usual check in hours. Javiera from the staff was super friendly and worked extra hours to let us in. Also Elizabeth from the Housekeeping was super friendly. The staff was really outstanding and helped us wherever they could.

Not much noise protection from other rooms/people but generally a good policy on noise.
Spondylus was an amazing support - really helped us out in a sticky situation and they work hard to meet your time requirements. It was straight down a single road from the bus station, 15 min walk. Looked after our luggage whilst trekking.

Clean and nice little hostel. We were kindly let it early by the housekeeping. The bus station (with busses to Torres del Paine and others) is a 15min walk away and very easy to find. The main street is also just a short walk from the hostel.

The welcoming was super. The receptionist ( Spondylus) makes us feel very relaxed. The location was perfect for us as it was close to the bus station and the centre of Natales. That was very handy. The rooms were basic but clean. Just what you need before going to Torres del Paine's. One of the group members was unwell just the night before our departure and Spondylus did everything he could to help. Even found us a place where we could stay in case we couldn't make it to Las Torres. Amazing staff. Thanks so much. I recommend this place.

First stay, we booked a standard room with separated beds. A little bit basic. Basic shower needs a little renovation.
Friendly staff. Location not far from the main street but quiet. Breakfast ok. Second stay, our room was nice, spaceous. Good shower.

One day the tv cable guy came to fix something at the hostal which I believe involved doing some cable works at each room. We were not advised of it in advance and when we came back from the tour we just found our room’s door wide open with our stuff visible (as we left)

Walls were a bit thin and we could hear entire conversations from the room beside us which made it difficult to sleep.
Location was good, short walk from where all the restaurants are located. Host was great, tended to our needs and went the extra mile to help us locate a currency exchange place. Breakfast was prepared for us as we had to leave very early in the morning.

Only 1 shared bathroom for quite some rooms. Every time we wanted to take a shower or go to the toilet, it was occupied..
