Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Costa RicaEverything was good but if you are very sensitive to noises probably ask for a room at the back since the neighbors have a lot of dogs, or just wear ear plugs
Location is great, 3 blocks away from Rodoviario Puerto Natales and a 15 min walk from the center. Hot water, cozy bed, good breakfast, friendly staff… they agreed to store my bags twice and even coordinated a late night check in. Very pleased overall.

CanadaHostal La Base was one of the best decisions we've made when booking a place in Puerto Natales. Originally, I booked another hostel that was "advertised highly" on booking.com, but made a last minute decision to switch. Glad I did! It was the perfect hostel for a couple with private rooms with 2 single beds. It had two outlets and a private washroom with plenty of soap. Breakfast selection included fruit, bread, oatmeal, cereal, deli meat and cheese. It's a little further of a walk between the main town, but closer to Terminal Rodovario if you need to take the bus. What made it great was unfortunately my luggage was delayed, and didn't arrive at the hostel until super late (after I rented gear from town). When the guy at the front desk learned we were waiting for an Uber to drop off the rental gear since my luggage arrived, he swiftly grabbed his keys and told us to hop in his car. On top of this, they also offer luggage storage while you do treks, which is super helpful! Would 100% recommend this place to stay if you're coming to Puerto Natales! Also would recommend you download google translate to help you converse with the people there!

United StatesNo major complaints - it's a little walk into town but that's the price of staying near the bus station (which is also a benefit)
Close to the bus station; very friendly staff; continental breakfast included; able to store our bags during the W Trek

United StatesThe rooms were clean but all the rooms were upstairs. We had to lug all of our suitcases/packs up the narrow staircase. There was no AC. Our stay was in mid February and it was incredibly warm in the upstairs rooms. We were having a packing party as we prepped for the Torres del Paine circuit and struggled with staying in the room. We had all the windows and doors open just trying to get some airflow through the room.
The breakfast was great and always ready right at 6am. We were a group of 8 individuals and there were lots of seating options for breakfast. There was plenty of space in the common area for us to hang around. We once went out to buy a bunch of snacks and came back, sat in the common area, and tried all the different snacks Puerto Natales had to offer. The wifi was strong in the common area. The front desk was always very welcoming and kind to us. We were able to leave our suitcases with them the morning we left for the O trek. Upon our return, we came back and picked up the suitcases and went straight to the bus station to go to Punta Arenas. The location was very close to the bus terminal and an easy walk with all of our packs.

We stayed here before and after our O trek. It had everything we needed - comfy beds, good showers with hot water, free luggage storage for our eight days in the park, and an excellent breakfast that started early enough for us to eat before catching the 6:45 am bus to the park. Location was perfect with a short walk to the bus station and city center. Staff was very accommodating with our early-late arrival/departure times.

United StatesI have nothing negative to say about the property.
The room was super clean and smelled great. The beds were very comfortable and so nicely made. The location was great - a few blocks from the bus station and walking distance to lots of great places in town. The two people we interacted with who were working during our stays were so kind and warm. We felt at home and super comfortable! The breakfast was amazing and included homemade jam, a family recipe!

United StatesIt's approximately located mid-way between the bus station and town, but I wish it were closer to town albeit only 10-15 minutes by foot.
After staying in 2 hostels in the Argentinian side of Patagonia, I found this to be a huge improvement in terms of quality. Very friendly staff and great responsive communication. My room was quite spacious. The assortment of breakfast items was also a huge improvement compared to that in Argentina. They even had fresh fruit.
