How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Shower head kept detaching off the wall but good power and hot.
Good breakfast, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the gym and outdoor seating.

The door of the room didn’t close properly
Nice hostel very cool area. Must be beautiful in the summer, unfortunately winter time gets cold and there is no heating

The weather was very cold in Santiago and the bedroom was freezing, the heater wasn’t working properly and also the shower no hot water at all

Really cold! Many areas are open air and the heaters are very weak and only turn on at certain times automatically. Still really enjoyed the place!!
Great staff, amazing happy hour (free piscos for an hour!) that got everyone down to the bar. Fun social nights too and good tours.

Kitchen is not well equipped. Curtains at the bed for more privacy would be nice
Big Hostel with great common areas. While playing Jenga or just sitting there it's easy to get in touch with other travellers. They offer nice activties. Bathroom and kitchen were cleaned often. Also the option of heaving a gym was nice!

Part of the place is a little old. When we walk on the upper stage wooden floor, the floor squeaks. This is horrible if you have a few hours of sleep before an appointment because people might wake you up with the noise. For me it wasn't a problem though.
The accomodations are cozy, clean, and the staffis generally very wellcoming. Also there is a coworking station, a silent place with a desk, a chair and silence to work.

Room had a "funny" smell. Courtyard area is also a smoking area - not so good for non-smokers. The hostel is located in a cul-de-sac which may feel a little unsafe at night. There was a park nearby that had homeless people - just something to be aware of, not saying they would pose a problem.
Close to metro station and within walking distance to Bellas Artes museum and Patio Bella Vista restaurants and shopping. Was great to have tour options, in-house bar and pizza night. Breakfast staff were very nice and there was a good enough range of breakfast items for me.

The rooms were noisy and the other guests were very vibrant, so if you're not into that, it's not your hostel.
We stayed only one night and got a 4 person room with separate bathroom for a very small price. The people were super nice and very quick. We didn't expect a lot from the hostel for one night, but we were sad that we only stayed so short since they had a bar within the hostel that was very alive.

No a/c or screens on the windows, the gym equipment needs to be updated/ replaced, as many of the machines don’t work or are broken

The room was amazing...the manager really help us about how we can pay because usually they just accept dollar...very close to the metro and I really like the party at night.

The hostel organises dinner with drinks in the common area make which makes a great way to meet other travellers without it being a party hostel. Staff is friendly and helpful!

The hostel is huge! The patio is very special and a great place to relax. It has work spaces, kitchens, fitness, etc. There is a great program for guests every day (like pizza or free Pisco sour evenings). Highly recommended.

Lots of the beds made tons of noice when you moved in them. It was also a bit warm in the rooms.
Lots of great facilities at the hostel! Nice dining places, working areas, fitness area, toilets, showers and lockers!

You are charged 19% local tax, unless you use American dollars. Foreigners are supposed to be exempt from the tax! The bar isn’t very well stocked, mostly just tinned beers, often just from reception. Rooms for individuals, a bit on the steep side, sometimes.
Good location, close to subway stations and walkable to Barrio Italia, Barrio Lastarria and Bellavista. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff. 24hr manned front desk. Even though it’s huge, it has a good atmosphere. They organise events. Some simple/basic food available most days.

Avoid the top floor. The rooms are like saunas and only have fans no AC. Also no hot water but given the room temperature that was OK
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place and general facilities were very good. They arranged events each day and helped booking activities.

There are lots of common areas and a very beautiful patio. Also a gym and a working space, which is not easy to find in a hostel. The room was comfortable and the shared toilets/kitcheb were clean. Very social hostel, is easy to meet friendly people. The staff were great and the location very convenient. I would definitely stay again!
