How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

breakfast is basic but fine
Very charming small hotel, quiet, a perfect place for 1 or 2 nights, very clean and friendly owner and staff. Cozy living room that everyone can use. Owner was very helpful with our laundry.

Room 4 had no windows.
Very comfortable large bed. Stylish clean room and pretty common areas. Excellent communication with the owner. Tasty boxed breakfast beautifully presented.

Their breakfast could be improved. The lunchbox includes a tasteless white bread ham/cheese sandwich and two dry pieces of bread with some jam and butter + mandarine!
Very clean, modern boutique hotel. Our room was very comfortable, specially the king size bed. We had one of the rooms facing the street, but the windows isolated well the street noise. Pablo, the host, was extremely helpful and gave us good recommendations, specially the restaurant that we chose for the first lunch there which was delicious (La Yegua Loca). The taxi driver he called for a half day excursion to Fuerte Bulnes (Juan) was very friendly and knowledgeable, and suggested many interesting places along the way. Very nice stay.

Lovely big room with modern facilities. The shared facilities of lounge and kitchen were a bonus. Pablo was very nice and helpful

The safety deposit box in the room could have been bigger and more sturdy. Packed breakfast could be healthier and respect dietary restrictions (like vegetarian), given the price of the room.

We had to leave very early in the morning both days and were pleasantly surprised to see boxed breakfasts had been set out. The bed was very comfortable and check in was quick and easy.

Acoustics, noise between rooms and hallways/common areas very noticeable.
Very clean, comfortable and close to town. Owner very responsive to messages and any issues. Excellent included breakfast and amenities.

Bathroom slightly small, but that wasn't a problem for us.
Friendly and very helpful host. Self check-in process was really easy and the host gave us recommendations and ordered an airport transfer for us. Nice room with a super comfortable bed. The hostel is situated in a nice old house in a good location.

The only thing is that the room did not have a window, and I miss the natural light.
It is exactly like in the pictures! The bathroom is great and the shower incredible! Pablo, the hostess is very helpful and helped us scheduling a tour with the agency, besides giving all the assistance during our stay there.

Mini fridge did not work. Other guests seemed to have difficulty with entering the building when first checking in. Only slightly out of the way; 10 minute walk to the central square.
Spacious and clean rooms with TV. Clean and well lit public spaces. Beds we’re comfortable.

There were ongoing renovations while we were there with a lot of noise and workmen walking around the house. We were not told of this in advance. However, this is only temporary so would still really recommend.
Very nice room with a hotel quality bathroom. Great wifi and a smart tv in the room. Host was very friendly.

Not a big deal because we only stayed one night, but our room didn't have an actual external window, it was like a faux window (may have been part of the upgrades / reno work they were doing).
The hosts Antonio and Pablo were great about communicating beforehand and helping us to check in and arranging a ride to the airport for us and putting breakfast out on the table. And we got a discount because they were doing some reno. All of it was very much appreciated. They also gave us an excellent dinner rec (La Yuega Loca) which we thoroughly enjoyed. But the place was so cute, especially in the little common area, wish we had more time to enjoy it!
