Only downside is that wifi often does not work properly, and for some people who are a long way from home and need to stay in touch it might a problem, even because phone signal also is a bit unstable in the premises of the hostel.

It is a beautiful calm place to have a great sleep while it’s directly in the city center. You shut the door behind you and it’s calm and cosy. The rooms are so nicely decorated and cosy. Great bathroom. There is a cooking and eating area. Laundry is possible too. Very nice and kind owner. Staff is amazing too and it feels very comfortable to be there.

Maybe a little more information on tourist attractions for the surrounding area.

We chose the Quad room and it was very spacious 30m2 and included private bathroom. It was very comfortable and extremely clean. The hot water in the bathroom was constant with adequate pressure. The Sonchek has excellent kitchen facilities and amenities at the back of the property which was a pleasant surprise as we chose to cook our own food the second evening. It also has a lovely little courtyard area for seating outside. It is located about 200 metres from the church in the main plaza but is in a quiet street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Fantastic place right in the heart of San Pedro, two blocks from the church. Lovely inner courtyard with plants and lots of places to sit. Spotless and well equipped kitchen for guest use. Nice hosts. Very early check-in. Will recommend Sonchek to my friends.

The Squeaky bed in room 13

We had the room for 3/4 people which was a good size (did have one very squeaky bed). Good hot shower. Kitchen was spotless. Very quiet road.

Owner was a bit prickly (unnecessarily) when asked for basic help in figuring out parking in SPDA. But overall great experience

Can't think of much... They turn on lighting in the rooms when it gets dark: the batteries are being charged when the sun is up. Not really a big inconvenience though.

A nice enclosed facility behind the walls, isolated from the streets, A bit rustic but functional and comfortable. A spacious kitchen with all you need, Few steps to the tourist core of the town. We got a parking spot behind the gates. Friendly and helpful staff and the owner.

- Poor Wifi connection in rooms. - No hot showers. - Locking system on door meant if one person wanted to go out and the other stay in, their was only one set of keys and locked into room.

Not sure if can borrow hair dryer The lock of the room door need to be repaired to enhance security.

Great location, close to Atacama center, but still quite at night. Nearby is a minimarket too. The staff is really friendly and allowed us to check in early. We did laundry here which is very convenient, ~around 10 usd for 1 load. You can also use the kitchen to cook.

Rooms were locked with a flimsy padlock, not very secure! But to be honest San Pedro de Atacama is very safe.
