How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Perfect place to sleep beds were comfy , I felt like I was sleeping at someone’s home rather than a hostel. Very cozy, close to the airport. Got in late at midnight and got some good sleep then left for airport. This hostel was very welcoming and cozy compared to other in Santiago wish I would’ve found before.The address on google isn’t exactly correct but just look for the colourful building , also showers with hot water , perfect

For a night before you have a flight it's good, still assume to pay at least 18.000-20.000 pesos for a taxi to the airport. No shelf or anything to put your stuff at night at the upper beds

It was hard to find as there was no sign and we had to ask a neighbour. We knocked, called and messaged and waited outside for 10 minutes with all our bags before we were let in. He helped arrange a taxi to the airport but it ended up being double the price of the actual cost.
Good location for the airport. Clean and comfortable. We only stayed for a few hours to sleep before we had an early flight.

No signage, wrong address, hard to find. Host was super high when I arrived and weed smell was everywhere. He also tried to gaslight me to not walk on the mountain because he wanted to sell his tour.

I got the feeling that the location is not good. I got a uber from the airport to the hostel and the driver didn't even want to drive me into that area of town. He was shocked there was a hostel around. When we got there I could see why. I didn't stay long but the area looked pretty rough, I was afraid to leave the hostel and walk around. The hostel is not super well connected in terms of public transportation. I was trying to get downtown and the closest metro was 45 min walking. They advertise that the hostel is close to the airport, and as I had an early flight this is why I decided to stay. However, it was still 20 mins from the airport until there, I took event less from Providencia to the airport.
The staff was friendly.

Rafa, his mom and Lea are the best hosts and make the cozy little hostel feel like home immediately. They go out of there way to make sure everyone feels welcome and has a good experience. Also the location is perfect if you have to go to the airport (Rafa even organized a taxi for us and got up at 5am to say goodbye). Would definitely recommend this hostel!

Special place not too far from the city centre. Rafael and his mother are great people and always available, even to take a beer togheter. Looks like to be at your own home and not in a hostel and that's a great thing. I recommend it.

I didn’t sleep a wink, but that’s likely a reflection of my reaction to the previous day. However, Rafael said as part of the transfer package, which I think was likely considerably more expensive than a standard fare, he’d get up and wake me up - but that didn’t happen. At about 3.30 am the 3 am transfer still wasn’t there. They must have called Rafael and woken him, because he said I wasn’t there at 3 am (when I was ready and waiting downstairs from 2.50) but another transfer was coming. The second transfer went fine and got me to the airport far too early (zero traffic), but then seemed to ask me to pay because Rafael hadn’t paid him. I told him how much I had paid Rafael and that he should talk to him, which did the trick.
My phone was stolen that day, so once I arrived Rafael was kind enough to walk with me to the police station to file a report (because I didn’t have a phone to navigate). By the time I got back from that, it was time to get to bed given I had a super early airport check in. Rafael organised the transfer in what he said was a trusted service. The transfer was arranged for 3 am because Rafael said the road to the airport can get very busy in the morning, even though I had a 6 am domestic flight.

the hostal was very clean! Rafa was incredibly accommodating and helped me find the best route to get to the hostal. It’s a very family feel and he was super inviting anytime I had no plans to go hang out with him and his friends. He was always available when I had any questions!

We arrived late, but Rafael stayed up and was very helpful and friendly. We immediatelty felt welcome and were even given tea with fresh herbs to calm an upset stomach. Just Like being home with your mother

Rafael was always there for whatever we needed, helped us in everything and treated us as if we were his long time friends. There was a girl that worked with him, really nice and friendly, and also his mother, that made us feel as if we were in our home. The bed was really confortable, so we slept perfectly, the bathroom was always clean. Near the hostel there is the street market and a supermarket and it's near the plaza Renca, so it's easy to take the bus for the centre. As you walk out the hostel, you have a really nice view on the hill and the mountains. Thank you all for the great experience!
