Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChileWe had a fantastic time at Kona Koa lodge. The staff was excellent. Jerome was very responsive to my questions when making reservations and planning the trip. Fidji was so kind, gracious and professional meeting us at the airport with a beautiful floral lei and was available all day every day to answer questions and give recommendations. The rooms were very clean and bedding was very comfortable. We will definitely stay at Kono Koa lodge again. We loved that it was a bit out of the city. It was so quiet and peaceful with breath taking views. Jerome and Fidji arranged fantastic tours for us with our guide Juaquin who shared with us his beautiful island and the history of it. Kona Koa Lodge made our trip to Easter Island a wonderful adventure to be remembered always.

United StatesFrom the moment we arrived at Kona Koa Lodge, we knew our stay was going to be something special. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Rapa Nui, this lodge truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Jerome, our host, was the epitome of warmth and hospitality. He was attentive and always available to help with anything we needed, from local tips to arranging transportation. His guidance made our stay both easy and enjoyable. The room itself was a highlight. Spacious and immaculately clean, it offered a tranquil retreat after days spent exploring the island. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the overall quietness of the location meant that every morning we woke up refreshed and ready to tackle the day's adventures. The lodge’s amenities and its serene setting contributed to a feeling of exclusive privacy and comfort. For anyone visiting Rapa Nui, I cannot recommend Kona Koa Lodge enough. It’s not just a place to stay, but an integral part of the experience on this unique island. Jerome and his wonderful lodge are sure to make your visit unforgettable!

United StatesIt is advisable to rent a car to easily access the town for groceries, dining, and exploring this beautiful island.
Kona Koa is a beautiful property, situated on a hill facing west, offering perfect views of the sunsets. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to the town center. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and well-maintained, surrounded by beautiful gardens and delicious fruit plants. Special thanks to the owners, Jerome and Fidji, who were friendly and helpful. They assisted us in arranging car rental and connected us with amazing tour guides who took us on private tours around the island and its caves. We particularly enjoyed spending our mornings on the terrace, which featured a kitchenette. The famous sunset spot at the Tahai complex is located very close by.

United StatesNothing.
Absolutely everything. Our accommodation was lovely and comfortable. We loved being able to see the sea from our patio. Owners Jerome and Fidgi are absolutely outstanding. They were incredibly friendly and helped us coordinate the details of our trip such as obtaining guides for the park, making dinner reservations, and airport transport. We were also moved by the small gestures: Jerome allowed us to use his hiking poles and brought us mangoes from his tree.

RussiaHad a great vacation in Chile at December. Stayed at the Easter Island at the Kona Koa Lodge and it was really right choice. Jerome is a very attentive and friendly host, he organized transfer for us from the airport and back, recommended a very good local guide for excursion around the National Park and meeting the highlights. We also rented a car at Kona Koa and fully satisfied by this experience, everything was organized easy and conveniently. The house is surrounded by lovely blossoming garden, it’s clean and cozy and fully equipped with necessary household appliances and utensils. Highly recommend the place for those, who going to discover the Island!

The accommodation itself was beautiful, well designed, new, with a great bathroom and shower, and a kitchen opening up to the terrace - all completed by a stunning and relaxing view. 10/10 would recommend!

United StatesThe location was a bit far from town, and there weren’t really meal options near the hotel. We had a rental car for part of our stay here, but when we didn’t have it, it was a lot tougher to get around. Also, the rooms were very, uh, connected to the outdoors, which meant more access for bugs like mosquitoes to get in or for certain rooms to get hot. I thought the property handled it well, by providing bug spray and a plug in repellent and plenty of shade options, but something to be aware of if that’s something you’re sensitive to.
Beautiful rooms and property with sea views and even the ability to see a moai from the right location! Friendly host who was responsive over WhatsApp to help with restaurant recommendations / bookings, ideas for tours, etc before our stay. The rooms themselves were also really cool, with windows that could be opened with rope pulleys and spacious showers/bedrooms/outdoor lounge spaces, and fully equipped kitchen and lots of drinking water provided. Importantly, everything was very clean. This was the perfect place for us to spend a rainy day after we had completed many of our tours and didn’t have much more exploring in us. We were also dropped off at the airport at the end of our stay which was a nice touch. Parking was readily available.

United StatesI can’t say enough good things about our stay at Kona Koa. We booked the premium cabin with the outdoor shower, and it felt incredibly private with a gorgeous view. Jerome and Fidji were friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with, and they gave us lots of great recommendations. The cabin itself was really nicely put together with an attention to detail that definitely showed. The starlink internet worked great for us - easy to stream movies after dinner or do a bit of work. Renting a car definitely seemed necessary given that the lodge is a bit outside of town, but it was convenient and affordable to rent through Kona Koa. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a quieter and more private experience on the island.

United StatesNo complaints! It’s a bit outside of town but we knew that going into it. Wi-Fi was spotty in the room but it worked! We didn’t go to Rapa Nui to sit on the internet
The bungalow was absolutely lovely and the views were incredible. Loved that it had a small kitchen including stove and mini fridge for easy coffee and breakfast items. Jerome and Fiji helped coordinate our rental car (yes, get one) and local guides for tours.

United StatesA bit far from town to walk, but perfect by mountain bike. There was also no daily cleaning service.
Beautiful bungalows and grounds, with stunning views of the sea amidst flowering tropical plants. Lots of care and attention have gone into the design of each bungalow, which the owner Jerome oversaw himself. He upgraded me to the premium bungalow which has an amazing outdoor shower that I just loved. The area is quiet and relaxing and the perfect place to unwind. I borrowed a mountain bike which was the perfect way to get into town (and to explore the southern part of the island) if you're an active type. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride each morning and evening. It would be a bit far to walk in my opinion, though. Kitchen is fully functional and I recommend stocking up on some food and drinks your first day. Cost is high, but prices are elevated across the island. Thanks for a lovely stay Jerome!

We enjoyed the breakfasts on the high table, the afternoon on the terrace and the clear stars at night. We did not mind it was outside of Hanga Road, rather the opposite. The recommended German guide was excellent. The Family tried to make everything possible. Highly recommended.
