How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast was a little basic and the hostel is quite expensive but that's normal for the island.
Kori was great, picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. Room was clean,. comfortable and had a good shower. Good vibe in the hostel and easy to meet people. Easy to walk into Hanga Roa as well.

Hostel manager is very kind and helpful. Restaurants and shopping is near from hostel. Internet speed is ok. Breakfast is good. I recommend it. I would to visit again! 😅

Nice and simple hostel. The rooms are good size and you have small lockers. Two big living rooms, one downstairs and another one up to chill in the afternoon. Its realy nice after traveling in the island to come back to a cleane hostel. The rooms , the common areas, the toilets and showers- its perfect. Nice big kitchen. The host is realy helpful and firendly . There is free parcking for any vehicle you will rent in the island.

Comfy beds, good WiFi, good kitchen facilities if you want to cook. Kori was lovely and helped with booking tours and taxis etc. 10 mins walk to the town.

That I had to leave, ☹️
Quiet location, just a few minutes walk to the center where the restaurants are located. Rooms where ample with very comfortable beds; 3 bathrooms; ample common areas to eat, seat, relax. Kitchen is big and, although, I didn't cook, I used it to prepare coffee. Kori was an excellent host providing plenty of info with tours and other activities. He is also the one doing everything around the hostel. I had a wonderful time there.

Sofas in common areas have seen better days
Place was great overall. I had my own room with double bed and bathroom. Room was quite large. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom fine. Kori picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. Kori was always around during breakfast and very friendly. Kori can help you with tours if needed. Common areas were large and pretty clean. I didn’t cook there but others did and kitchen seemed well stocked. About a 15 walk to busy area of town. Definitely recommend.

The cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at! The private room was really spacious and clean. The shower worked great with pressure and hot water. Wifi was great considering how remote the island is pretty impressive it never dropped. Kori is an absolute sweetheart and such a lovely host. He was so helpful in advising us where to visit and was always there to lend a hand if we needed. Very punctual pick up and drop off to the airport

Everything was great. Kori is an excellent host, he is very kind & friendly, picks you up from the airport, helps you organise tours & activities, provides a great breakfast, nothing is a problem. There is a real family vibe and you get to know the other travellers well. It's walking distance to everything in town, even the airport! I will absolutely be back!

The bathroom was a bit small to get changed.
The rooms were comfortable and there were extra blankets if needed, everything was super clean and the breakfast was great with fresh and homemade food. The location is also good - only a few minutes of walk to the main places of Hanga Hoa - and Kori is a very helpful host.
