Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is truly a magical place, I’ve never stayed anywhere like it. It’s super peaceful and full of animals to interact with. The dog Elvis is one of the great dogs! Staff also wonderful.

SpainI really liked everything. It's an insane place in the middle of the desert where you really feel you are experiencing the Atacama vives. The staff was super nice, and the neighbours we had, the multiple animals that live there, made the experience unforgettable. It's only 20 minutes walking for San Pedro de Atacama and the path it's really worth it! I strongly recommend this place

United StatesIt's a bit out of town, down bumpy gravel roads but so worth it. A lovely get away and I felt wrapped in the coziness of a working ranch. A large comfortable and clean independent space to stay. Meeting the friendly and helpful staff and the even friendlier animals. The stars at night, we left our door open so often found myself cuddling with a cat. Just a joy of a place to stay.

SwedenCan't think of anything!
We loved everything about staying at the Lodge Atacama Horse. It felt like finding a hidden green oasis and animal paradise in the desert. Everything beautifully crafted and thought out from the rooms to the gardens and communal spaces. It was also great to learn that many of the animals on the lodge were rescues, like the amazing donkey Sebastian for example. Also with the horses and horseback riding it was clear how much the lodge cared for the well being of the horses.

VietnamTwo goats two dogs and three cats came to greet us when we arrived.. I was afraid that the accommodation would be a little bit smelly because of the animals nearby but it was in not case at all. The room was round bungalow with thatched roof, with nice terrace...a cat came sleep on our beds. You can get free filter water while other hotels in town give you no water at all

CanadaNeed Fans or ac in room Breakfast should be better
This lodge is an animal lovers dream. There's alpacas, a donkey, goat, dogs, cats, horses ducks..the list goes on! The rooms were clean but sadly I did not get the room I thought I was getting (our room had a double bed and a single when I had booked a room with only one bed and I thought we'd get a tub based on pictures but it was a standing shower only). Rooms have no ac or fans which is hard during summer nights - you can't open windows because of mosquitos. Fridge access is available at the main lodge(breakfast room) if needed. Breakfast was very basic and the same on both days (cold cut, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereal) - would be nice to get a warm breakfast at least on one day. Staff were very friendly and did their best to accommodate our requests. You definitely need a vehicle to get here as it is a 25 min+ walk into town. We luckily rented a car at the last minute and drove into town (free parking) daily. Renting a car meant we did tours on our own as well. I thought we'd see the stars from the lodge but the light pollution was too much so I'm glad we did an astro tour in the end! Each room has their own mini veranda/patio so we sat outside in the evenings to cool down before bed.

NetherlandsWifi doesn't cover all of the lodge. But since you don't really want to be on your phone at this place, this doesn't really matter ;) It's a 20 min walk to the centre, but you can also take one of the free mountainbikes!
It is amazing and very relaxing to immerse yourself in nature among all of the (very friendly) animals at this lodge. Combine that with a very pretty room, nice bathroom and kind staff and you get the perfect accommodation for your stay in Atacama!

United KingdomSomething worth mentioning that we didn't know, you are unable to ride horses if your over 85kg. Tricky for a 6ft man. It was the reason why we booked this lodge. Something to let people know in advance.

United StatesWe had nothing to complain about. The only note is for the people that want to be in the town center. This hotel is not in the center of the town but we had a car and it was not a problem.
This is such a great place to relax and spend a night at after long days of exploring the Atacama desert. I would recommend this place for the families with kids. It’s like living in a petting zoo. My 11 year old had so much fun running around the property checking out the horses, dogs, lamas, ducks and of course the donkey Sebastian. And you can even have your private horseback tour into the desert.

United StatesThe center of San Pedro is walkable, but after moderate physical activity during the various daytime activities around San Pedro, a taxi was necessary more often than not.
The owner was on top of any requests we had and was eager to share his knowledge. Great personal touch to his approach. The breakfast was a nice addition. The rooms were rustic, but very clean. Plenty of room in the bathroom.

NorwayThe place by the river with all the horses, llamas, a donkey, ducks, chicken, cats and friendly dogs that accompanied us in the horse expedition at the night camping deep into desert. The room with the view of the horses. You can really feel the authentic experience of living at the farm, meet the locals and the landlords with rich lovely personalities and stories to share, connect with the nature and dissapear into the silence of the desert. They also have two guitars and a fireplace in the living room where you have breakfast, many good books and atributes, decorations of local flora and fauna, history, and also the kitchen. A place that will stay in memory with sweet nostalghia.

United KingdomSan Pedro retains a lot of its old character which means dirt roads throughout the town. Atacama Horse is about a 20 minute walk from town and could be tricky to find. Eric, the owner, is very helpful and quick to respond to any question so he will give you detailed instructions about getting there. The lodges are lovely and well maintained. The old ranch building has plenty of character and is a good place for breakfast, which we enjoyed, and tea and coffee, which are available all day. If you like animals there are plenty around - cats, dogs, horses, llama, donkey, goat and ducks - I think that’s all of them. We really enjoyed our stay.
