How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Extra charge for breakfast. It was not specified in the booking.
Great Location, right in the best part of Santiago. A number of great restaurants nearby. Costanera Shopping Centre a few minutes stroll away. Great Gym. Some organs not working properly but overall spacious, clean and 24 hours open. Parking available and free of charge: secure, underground etc. Barman makes excellent PISCO SOUR cocktails.

More lounge chairs around the pool.
Breakfast had lots of choice. The staff looked after filling in and cleaning up continuously.

The fact that when we arrived (11:30 pm) there was only pizza available and only until midnight.

the room is quite small, if you need anything you have to get it yourself, I asked for towels and i had to go down pick it up from the reception. I needed an iron and had to go pick it up myself. so be ready to ask while in the reception for all what you need. it seems that they don't have a room service or someone to serve any room request. There was a Nespresso machine in the room with one capsule only! if you want extra, then you have to buy from the reception café. The hotel should warn tourists as soon as they arrive about unsafe areas in the city and be able to advice on where to go and not. only receptionists speaks English The breakfast is very limited and it is the same everyday....no vegetables at all ( cucumber, tomatoes,....) The swimming pool is so tiny, if you are looking to enjoy swimming and sunbathing. that's not the right hotel.
The hotel vibe overall is really nice and modern, a nice location, close to costanera shopping centre and Sky tower, very easy to walk around and quite safe. washroom are really clean and nice, beds are comfortable and staff are friendly and try to help.

It would be nice to have some vegetables at the breakfast, salad,cucumber etc. Also some smoke of cigarette came to our room from another room.

Room amenities, such as shampoo and shower gel could be better but are enough. It would be better if you could open a window in your room, but the Air conditioning is good and enough to ventilate your room.
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood (Providencia), sufficiently close to the metro station and to a mall (Costanera center), where you have plenty of food options as well as supermarkets and many stores. The staff is great and friendly. We appreciated the kindness of Cecilia, one of the hotel receptionists. The breakfast was verry good and included "English breakfast" hot food. My best advice is avoid hotels in Santiago City center: it is unsafe, it is not pretty after dark and usually more expensive.

In my room the wi-fi connection was not very good.
Ugo Hotel has clean rooms, good facilities and an excellent staff. Food in the Hotel is very good. Hotel`s location is perfect for a Business trip.

Not a criticism, but a suggestion. It would be nice to have tissues (Kleenex) in the bathrooms.
Excellent facilities and customer service. The employees at the hotel were extremely welcoming and accommodating. In particular I would like to mention Mr. Jonathan Castillo, who was extremely efficient and professional assisting us extend our stay in the hotel.

When the shower was used, there was always some water slipping on the bathroom floor. It was impossible to avoid it. Also, if you want to pay the room in US dollars and avoid the 19% Chilean VAT, you can only do it by credit card or cash. You can't pay with a debit card in US dollars. I understand this is not the hotel's fault, as this is a standard payment issue in Chile, so it is actually the Government's or National Bank's fault.
The hotel was very clean and modern, and the location was excellent. The hot water had very good pressure.

The voices and noices from the rooms next to mine were quite loud.
