Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilEven with the heater on, the bedroom where I stayed was a little cold. Also the shower in the feminine room wasn't warm enough.
Staff was great and could speak portuguese, spanish or english with me. The hostel has many activities to entretain the guests. I did the walking tour with Andre and was a nice way to know the city. Also the hotel is near San Cristobal Hill where you can watch the sunset with a spetacular panoramic view of Santiago. Is also a great spot for those who enjoy night life with many pubs options to go out. The reception is open all night and has some items you can buy like food, water, lockers, magnets of santiago... Also they can schedule tours for you like going to ski park during the winter season

PolandThe location is great when it comes to access to metro BUT there is a club or something that plays very loud all night every night. The hostel tries to remedy this by giving earplugs.
Nice kitchen, and loads of spaces to hang out it, including a nice outdoor area. Ample bathrooms. Close to the metro (L1).

AustraliaCan be noisy from clubs- but not as bad as other reviews made it out to be. Depends how light of a sleeper you ate.
Massive massive hostel. Really good beds- not creaky or wobbly. Big lockers. The whole hostel is kept super clean. Kitchen and dining great. 24 hr reception. 10mins to train station. Cool neighbourhood. Bathrooms within dorm and also outside.

NorwayKitchen was not well equipped and not clean. Since the clubs are nearby it's very noisy most of the night.
Staff was really helpful and friendly. The common areas are nice, except the kitchen. Bathrooms were clean. Earplugs for free at the bed to help to cancel the noise of Bellavista while sleeping.

GermanyNothing to complain!
The team of Pariwana Hostel is really kind and caring. I stayed in a 12 person dorm and it was still super comfortable. Good mattress and a big locker for your stuff. The bathrooms are extraordinary. Super modern and always clean. The location in Bellavista is perfect for any activities or just for grabbing some food in the street. Considering the cheap price this hostel is really one of the best in Santiago!

New ZealandVery noisy from adjacent clubs. Most go until 4am in the morning. Ear plugs help but the base is pretty hard to miss. The hostel has double glazed the windows which helps. They have daily events but they really need a staff member to round people up and try and get them to socialise more. It's a big space and it can feel quite empty even when lots of people are around. The internet was temperamental at times and the tv room could do with a few extra wall plugs.
Nice common areas, lots of space. Lucia was very helpful.

IndonesiaIt's not very social, and the pubcrawl is a tourist trap don't fall for it, I paid 20,000 and didn't get the drink at the first bar and i wasnt having a good time, so I didn't want to go anymore, asked for my money back they told me that I would get my refund but then they kept the money I had to confront the person in charge and finally got my money back after arguing with them, money hungry and dishonest people make this business look bad.
It's clean lots of washroom and showers, Location close to clubs and bars

IrelandThe hostel felt eerily big given how many people were there, especially considering it's peak tourist season. The room was also quite hot.
The table football, table tennis, darts and free tea were great. I was worried what the noise would be like after reading other reviews but with the earplugs there was no problem.

PortugalGreat location. I was able to walk to most places around Santiago and if you don't want to walk much there is a ton of bars and restaurants around. I recommend the Patio Bellavista, its just a few meters away and they have a lot of food options. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a desk 24hrs which is great if you arrive on a late flight. I didn't use the kitchen but it is available and I saw a lot of guests using it. There is a outdoors patio in the middle which is great to hangout and meet other travelers.
