The rooms are on the small side and the walls are thin, so depending on the other guests you may hear some noise during your stay.

Overall, we had a great stay at Riverline Lodge and it was a good base for visiting Torres del Paine, without paying the high prices to stay in the park. The dining options are very limited in Cerro Castillo, fortunately the dinner offered here was quite good and reasonably priced. The staff were very kind and helpful, including offering hiking recommendations, helping us dry out wet camping gear and arranging an early breakfast so that we could depart for a long hiking day.

The shower cabin sliding doors could have been in better condition. Other then that everything was perfect. In late evening it as bit noisy because of the people in the dining area. But after 11PM it became quiet.

Very nice and comfy lounge area with wood-burning fireplace - spent there a quite amount of time instead of the room :-) Hospitable staff. You get that atmosphere you are at your friends house in a small village. Tee and coffee - available to make yourself at any time. That was very nice after retuning soaked wet from the hike. Left very early ahead of the breakfast time. So they left for me couple yogurts with cereal in the dining room. Prepared delicious dinner. There were several options to choose from. Very big bathroom. Had a room with the electric heating which was a good thing to dry soaked wet hiking clothes.

Great family run stay just outside of Torres del Paine Park. Rooms all had cozy wood stoves to make it comfortable, breakfast was included, and dinner could be purchased. Hosts and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were given all needed information for getting to the park. Spent a wonderful day flyfishing with Riverline Lodge hosts as guides. Top-of-the-line equipment and clothing. Definitely the place to go for fly fishing in this area. Thank you for a great stay at the Riverline Lodge!

It was too warm in the house during the day and too cold at night because of the heating with wood.

As with all accommodation near Torres del Paine the accommodation wasn’t cheap for what it was. The bathroom was old but relatively well maintained.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. While the price for dinner was steep the food was delicious. A comfortable stay.

Nothing. In response to some of the other reviews, yes the walls are not the thickest. But it's generally very quiet anyway, and we managed to sleep just fine every one of the four nights we were there. We're both light sleepers! The beds are comfy.

It feels like you're staying in somebody's very welcoming home. The staff are warm, caring, and extremely helpful. The breakfast is good, and the dinner (not included in the price for the room, but reasonably priced) is excellent. We really appreciated them cooking for us after the 9.00 pm cut-off time. The location is about 45 minutes closer than Puerto Natales to the main viewpoints in Torres del Paine (including the mirador for base torres). It may not sound like a huge amount, but that hour and a half will feel like an eternity considering how physically taxing the hikes are. It also feels like you're part of a community there. Puerto Natales is more of a tourist town (a bit like El Calafate).

Such a friendly welcome from the family who run Riverline. A simple frontage hides very clean, cosy rooms and a warm comfortable lounge with wood-burning fire. An easy drive into the National Park. Lots of helpful advice from the hotel. Good if simple breakfast and tasty dinner - good value for money as we could bring our own drinks. Thank you!

It would be great to have some hook, hanger or stand in the room as there was virtually no place to put cloths. Similar situation in the bathroom: a couple of handers would be very useful.

I liked very much the location and atmosphere at this place. While the room was a bit small, there were common spaces (a kind of living room and dining room) which were very cozy with stove. I could imaging spending there much longer time.

    • Leisure trip

I would happily have given the lodge a 10/10 but the only reasons I have not is 1) the rooms are very cosy thanks to wood burning stoves in each room but we were not 100% comfortable leaving ours on overnight as I couldn't find a CO or smoke alarm anywhere in the room (and I didn't ask for one) so this meant we were a bit chilly in the mornings but really wasn't a massive issue and 2) accomodation prices in Patagonia in general are very high and so I can't honestly say that this was good value. For the region, it was the best value we could find. I would recommend the lodge on the basis of the staff and location.

The Riverline lodge staff were absolutely outstanding. They couldn't have been more accomodating for us. We're vegan and they went out of their way to get in vegan milk and to have vegan options available for breakfast and dinner. One of the staff is actually vegan herself and was very helpful. They also rearranged our room to make a double bed from our two singles as I had accidentally booked a twin not a double. They were super friendly and lovely to chat to and helpful and knowledgable with tips for the local area. The location is good for hiking in Torres del Paine and was much more convenient than staying in Puerto Natales and driving into the park each day. We did a variety of different hikes and it usually took us one hour by car from the lodge to the trailhead (vs 2h+ from Puerto Natales). Rooms and bathrooms are basic but as pictured.

The shower wasn’t too good. Rooms spartan and heating not the greatest. But the people are so nice, and the refuge so needed, we loved it.

It was a welcome refuge from a literal storm. Nice staff. We ordered the supper there no it exceeded expectations. It’s a small family run hotel. Sheep from the neighbouring hillside came down to welcome us.

    Nothing.

The owner of the property is very nice and helpfull. I had been run into very bad situation when find the car rental company after I arrived in the airport of Punta Arenas, since I have already made reservation with a car rental company, named Yoer Car Rental, and provided all the information such as the flight number, arriving time for pick up the car, etc. However, once I arrived in the airport, I cannot contact that person with WhatApp, which I was communicated with him so far. No person showing up at the airport, no answer with WhatsApp. He was just totally vanished. Then I have to book another company, which is Recasur Car Rental, I am soo luky that they have an extra car. So, that made my arriving time delayed for 5 to 6 hours! The owner wait for me until about 11:00 pm, I am greatly appreciated. I will be recommend this Riverline Lodge to other firends in the future.

We booked 4 nights at the Riverline Lodge and felt at home from the first moment. The owners are very very nice people and even with the language barrier, they made us feel welcome. We visited the lodge with our 2 year old son and they all loved him and spoiled him with extra drinks and snacks. We had dinner at the lodge a few nights, which we highly recommend! Javier was going the extra mile for us, giving us some nice tips for hiking in Torres del Paine with our son (in a backpack) and even warmed our fireplace in the room.

breakfast could have been a bit richer.

Riverline Lodge is a wonderful little family hotel in the middle of nowhere - Cancha Carrera, right after the border crossing. we came there to visit the national park torres del paine. the hotel is located ~1 hour from the park's entry. the hotel staff was very helpful and nice to us. all the facilities worked perfectly- hot water, drains etc. and the room was clean. each room has a wood fireplace and we found it very romantic (though you must take care not to overheat the room). woods are supplied by the owners. breakfast was a bit basic, but all places we visited had more or less the same standard. dinner is recommended. in short- the best hotel we've been to in our trip and we highly recommend it.
