Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeHotel is situated at the corner of the hustle and bustle lane hence it's pretty quiet. Though there's no lift, staff is very helpful to help on the luggages. The owner, Mr Yang, was helpful to provide advice on the nearby facilities like massage parlour which he highlighted we should go a bit further than use the nearby lanes. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend.

GermanyStaff doesn’t speak English and is not very helpful in information about local buses, train stations etc. The manager that you talk to online can help you arrange pick ups and entry tickets. However, they don’t provide you always with correct information (you should buy this.. it’s Chinese holidays… which is not true).
Clean and comfortable, good location, in walking distance to the tianmen mountain cable car. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets around (also late at night).

I impress since before I arrive, because I text to staff about the reserve attraction ticket and book taxi from Zhangjiajie West to the hotel becuse my arrival time is midnight there is no taxi to pick up me. The location of the hotel is close to both Zhangjiajie Railway station and Cable car lower station. Many restaurant around the hotel. they are so kindness that I and my husband already check out. but they let us to use bathroom for taking shower before travel another place by night train.

New ZealandI wouldn't recommend to book any tickets from Carol, their virtual administrator! She's available online only, doesn't listen and extremely rude! There are plenty of agencies around to do that. The room was a bit worn down. The reception staff doesn't speak English, which is not a big deal. The place is a bit hard to find as they don't have a sign in English.
Handy location, close to the bus station and cable road to Tianmen Mountain. Plenty of places to eat around.

South AfricaThe location was perfect! It's about a 10 min walk to Tianman Cable Car entrance. There are many convenience stores around the Hotel & many restaurants. The hotel has a lovely communal area which is great for relaxing after the day out & having a few drinks. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only gripe I had was the shower....It's an all in one shower right next to the toilet, with no shower door & no place to put down the shower gel or your toiletries. If they had a shower door, that would have been ideal..So when you shower, there's water running everywhere & no fan. The basin is in the room as well, so you can't wash your hands and face in the bathroom, you've got to go into the room & take the shower/soap with you. As a female, the correct lighting is quite important , so when you look into the mirror & applying make-up, you won't be entirely satisfied. The room was lovely & the hotel/Inn is quite cozy. The staff were accommodating towards our local friends, however their lack of English was evident, so they weren't able to communicate with myself, but luckily we had our local friends with us. They knew foreigners were coming, so it would have been nice to have at least 1 staff member be able to communicate. They made no attempt to even try and communicate with myself. The stairs are narrow & we were on the top floor, so it was quite tight arriving with our suitcases & we had to be especially cautious at night when returning up to the floor after having one too many. We didn't choose the breakfast option as we knew it would mostly be catered for Asians. It would be nice if they had coffee /tea in the rooms, however we brought our own, so we won't too phased. Overall, it was a lovely stay with the exception of the "waterfall "shower & basin in the bedroom.
