How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

LORA is very gentle and friendly, helping to solve problems! I really like the green plant tables and chairs outside the hostel gate. You can have a leisurely breakfast, enjoy the breeze at night, and watch movies, all of which are very comfortable!

Bit far from MTR station. Poor sound proof. Daily housekeeper can help to organize bed/linen besides changing towels/clearing trash

Very hospitable staff. Nicole on reception was very hospitable. One day I asked her places to visit in Chengdu in the evening and she kindly sent me all information by weixin. The other day I needed foot massage after visiting Buddha in Leshan and she kindly found one for me and showed the route. I also liked the cocktail in the evening and the singer, he was singing and playing really well. I like this hostel, it's 10/10, definitely

I missed my free coffee both mornings because I had to leave easily.

The staff is very professional and kind, they speak a very good English and they helped me to organise the activities in the city. Very good position and good restaurant very close. They help me with an airport pick up service

- Toilet in the room dorn is not a great idea, is a glass box, there is no intimacy, - Not so easy to get to the metro, but if you are able to tap on the shared bicycle you can easily go to the city center for Les than 2 yuan

The staff spoke English and was very kind, helpful and understanding. The bar downstairs is very cute and rustic. Free coffee was also available every morning to persons staying at the hostel. All in all a great experience.

It’s an old building and the bed a bit hard.
Staff very helpful and kind! There is a washing machine to use for a small payment and the kitchen. You can leave your luggage and go for traveling. Every week there is free program for the travelers, like making jiaozi and enjoying hotpot together.

I loved this place, the staff were so friendly and inclusive. They always made time to help you if you needed it. Nicole and Mike were two of the loveliest people I’ve encountered at hostels in China. They answered all of my questions and made guests feel comfortable and at home in the city. In addition, the staff here make amazing drinks!

Beds were slightly hard and thin, but nothing to complain too much about

Had a great time at Sonderia Hostel. Location is not too far from metro station and very close to the Monastery.. many restaurants and shops nearby. Hostel is clean.. Bar area is confortable eith free coffee in the morning and lifemusic at night. Not a party hostel but with a very good vibe😊 staff was very friendly! Nicole gave me lots of great informations whenever needed and helped me also out with buying a sim card.. always with a smile and happy to help.. thank you very much! Next time in chengdu will sure be back!

There were not any towel in the room and drinking water.
I liked that stuff agreed to place us in advance. Also, the room for 4 people was comfortable. We were happy to got taxi called.

Can't speak to all of them, but our dorm's shared bathroom could have been cleaner. Mosquitoes annoying at night
The location in a vibrant local neighborhood. Hostel "perks": dumpling party, neighborhood walking tour, free coffee in the morning, happy hour, the shared bar areas: great for meeting people! And most of all, the staff: thanks to Nicole, Damon and especially Mike for food recs, fun activities and very good coffee!

This was my first accomodation once I arrived to China - hence I had to deal with app-related issues, planning some activities, getting used to the currency. And while the hostel and its location deserve a round 8 (mostly location-wise, a bit far from the core of Chengdu), the helpfulness and extreme kindness of the whole staff - and in particular of Damon, with whom I've been in touch since a week or so before to land - have been priceless and led to a well-deserved 10/10. Thank you guys, you were precious!

The hostel is located super central and a lot of other international travelers are booking it. They have a awesome bar with nice barkeepers/baristas in the ground floor and offer an amazing coffee in the ground floor. Would definitely book it again. :)

Only 1 woman of the entire staff spoke decent English, which was curious since a lot of the customers were non-Chinese speaking.
The dormroom was nice with great privacy.
