Very good location! Close to the metro and many places for eat just next to the hostel. The terrace is very good for chill. On the reception, Lucy help me a lot with suggestion about some places.

Great value for money and the location was very convenient. I met some nice people here. Lucy at reception was very kind and helpful, she helped me a lot when when I wasn't so sure of my plans, giving reccomendations and helping me extend my booking.

Toilets at times can be smelly and dirty due to some travellers who don’t observe cleanliness.

The location is excellent. Plenty of restaurants around. Subway Station is a 5 mins walk. Bed is comfortable. They provide toiletries and towels. Lucy and Cassie helped to make my stay as comfortable and convenient as possible providing tips on where to go in Chengdu.

An employee! asked for ¥100, "to buy clothes" she then took/ate a sweet cake I was eating for breakfast. Thinking she was homeless, sleeping in the lobby to get out of the rain, I offered a partial bag of peanuts after I saw how she "devoured" the sweet cake. I found out later she was an employee after she gave away my next night reservation, or so the story goes. My first night was ¥52, at midnight the were no rooms, at 0630, one was available but 'for me' it was ¥72, they got ¥87 for my employee canceled reservation but offered me another room for ¥587 when the holiday inn express rooms were ¥550. The staff "found" me a bed at another "company owned" hostel for ¥120. When I pointed out the metro had been closed for over a hour, they offered to "call" a taxi, at my expense. Did I mention my gear had been in THEIR luggage storage for 18+- hours, so they knew I was returning around 1200?....if it was not so late, and knew they had broken a law, i would have called the police but for what? Bad business practice and extremely poor customer service.

Despise it said no smoking, the whole premise reeks of cigarettes smell. People smoke in the rooms with their doors open and the satffs take no action to stop them. The smoke were so thick that it entered my room from underneath the door. I am allergic to cigarette smoke.

Entrance is a bit difficult to find at first. It is very small and tucked away at the corner of a market. They could do with a bigger sign to catch your eye while on the street looking for it.

This place is absolutely worth it! Have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Very nice location in an area full of restaurants, bars, street food and clubs. Very welcoming staff, great common areas, super clean rooms with private bathroom. I loved this place.

I had a few loose tiles in my shower, but other than that, I have no complaints.

I spent nearly two months at Flipflop hostel and really have to say it's one of the best value-for-experience hostels I've been in. The staff was always helpful and friendly, I especially received good care from everyone at the front desk, Niel, Cheyanne, Rain, Allena, and the others whose names I can't recall at the moment. Xiao Bo, especially, although she officially started working at the hostel later, was a huge help and friend to me, sharing lots of information about Chengdu, always being thoughtful, and going so far as to even call a customer service line when my AliPay had issues. She went above and beyond, for sure. The accommodations were very comfortable, I had a single room with a view of the park which was nice. The rooftop space was very charming, I got several Alhambra coffees, which were delicious. Rooms were cleaned daily, with water bottles provided, and everything felt comfortable. My favorite part of my stay was the weekly city walks led by MIx, I got to see so much of Chengdu I wouldn't have otherwise, and Mix, having been born and raised in Chengdu, was deeply knowledgeable. It was super well located, within walking distance to Chunxi rd. and Taikooli where I went frequently. Overall a lot of really positive qualities and I would recommend it to anyone.
