It's uncommon to find excellent dining at a very affordable price right at your hotel. This is definitely the case at Wenjun. The food was out of the world and we chose to dine here 3 of our 5 night stay. The staff was well trained, courteous and their good English skills helped us enormously when we booked Sichuan Opera tickets, arranged for a driver, and other things. Frank and Joey at the front desk were so helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The location was great.

The shower is small, and there's no lights in front of bathroom mirror - making it hard to see well when putting up makeup

Location is great! Very convenient to take subway (just a few minutes walk) to other places. Walking distance (about 2 km) to Kuan Zhai Alley. Breakfast is very good, in addition to buffet breakfast, you can order wonton or noodle, they make it right there for you. Room is clean, and the whole block where hotel is has a lot traditional Chinese buildings, which is really nice.

This hotel is located on a nice traditional street and has a beautiful courtyard. The manager of the hotel speaks perfect English and he was very welcoming. I really appreciated some snacks and fruits in the room upon checking in.

Absolutely nothing. It was the best hotel of our entire stay which covered Shanghai and Xi'an as well as Chengdu.

The staff were so lovely and helpful especially Joey, and the beautiful young woman with the henna rose 'tattoo' whose I sadly did not catch. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff there were very patient with our lack of chinese. The situation of the hotel is in a very interesting part of the city, and it was very easy to get where we wanted to go, namely the pandas( of course) and the airport.

The breakfast changed daily and was fantastic. The restaurant / tea house was a destination restaurant. The food options were great and plentiful. The staff were amazing. In particular, Frank, the hotel manager, was super helpful, accommodating, and customer focused. He ensured that all elements of our stay from booking opera tickets to dining, to finding various destinations were seamless. He made our stay spectacular.

We had a lovely stay here. The hotel is very beautiful with its courtyard. When we arrived, they told us that we got an upgrade which meant that we had our own tea room. The staff was also super lovely and very friendly.

The only negative I had was that in our room with two double beds one was very hard. I did not ask to change rooms, which I suspect they likely would have done to accomodate us. A little difficult to move once set up with child.

The location is just perfect for tourists, as it is on a street styled in traditional Chinese fashion, with many tourist shops and just a 5-minute walk from the Sichuan Opera. Within a 10-minute walk, you can also find a street with many different cuisines. However, I would not recommend staying there for those who have issues with stairs, as there is no elevator. Another feature I liked is that every room has a table on the balcony, where you can enjoy tea or food. Additionally, the toilet seat has many functions and is heated, and they have a bath heater, which is cool. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Great service for the price. I'm not sure about the breakfasts, though.

No lift. Although the staff is helping to carry the luggage, you would still need to walk up to level 4. Elderly with leg problems beware.

Room is spacious and clean. Laundry service provided. Location is good. Near to 宽窄巷子。Within 10 minutes walking distance. The breakfast provided is quite good as well.

Good location for subway users Close to cultural park where Sichuan opera been shown. Nice staffs. They helped me whenever I had problem during travel, specially when I have to put Chinese phone number for reservation, also they searched a lot of information for me. Thanks all staffs Belle and other two nice staffs. This hotel’s interior design is very oriental so that you can feel Chinese mood and feeling. Hope to visit again.

Everything is just perfect. Toiletries are over expectations. They provide necessities & even slippers & toothbrush for children. Their staff are so well trained and helpful. Some can speak English. We arrived on 6/4/24. We pre-booked a car. He was punctual and nice driver. There was a male staff, didn’t get his name but he was so helpful with getting transportation, giving ideas where to go. He was so patient & help us booked tickets to see Panda. The breakfast is good for us. Varieties of bread, hot soup noodles, Chinese dumplings and the best is the coffee machine which is 24/7 and the boiled fruit tea. On a cold & rainy day, that was a real comfort. There’s a park just across the hotel & you can walk about 20 mins - 1 hour strolling walk to shopping mall like Taikoo Li. There’s a restaurant in the hotel which serve’s absolutely delicious sichuan dishes. Requested for not-so-spicy! Not expensive. They gave discount vouchers so for 3 of us, the dinner costs us Yuan170+

Great location. Lovely street environment. It has a restaurant, with good food and very convenient for us, because we had a train to catch to Beijing so we took food from there with us. But the best of all was the staff, specially Frank, the manager, who give us a very nice room and was very helpful clarifying all our questions.

We loved the location, the staff at the reception were extremely helpful, assisting us to book our tickets for the Panda Research Base when we had an issue, and the restaurant staff were lovely as well. The two twin rooms were clean and a great size for four friends travelling together. We were put in neighbouring rooms too, which is always helpful. Each room has a table out on the walkway overlooking the courtyard, so nice to sit out and have a beer before bed listening to the sounds of the city!

What's there not to like! We loved it

The courtyard experience makes an ideal stay in the old town complete if you fancy a proper holiday 😉 Staff were amazing and there's literally everything you need to fit into your stay in Chengdu. Restaurants all around, shopping souvenirs just next door, an open air concept of having a meal look no further!
