Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaThe staff member at our check-in was very poor and out of his depth. He incorrectly told us that the Great Wall had closed at 16:30 and could only be seen the next day at 09:00 with the hotel shuttle. This information was WRONG as a night visit was possible but required a local taxi. Fortunately, we did not accept his information and after searching found out that the Badaling section was open at night and turned out to be spectacular. We returned to reception to question the closure at 16:30 and were duly assisted by the excellent staff member Lee Li. Our stay would have been completely spoiled if we had not returned to reception and spoken to Lee Li as the night visit is UNMISSABLE. The pool area had neither food nor beverage service but this was possibly linked to the time of our arrival in the late afternoon. The view from the pool was not the same as I had seen in the book 501 Great Places to Stay - possible due to plant growth over the years since publication.
I found this accommodation in the book 501 Great Places to Stay when it was still run by Kempinski. The location is ideal for visits to both the Badaling (night visit) and Shuiguan (day visit) sections of the Great Wall. We stayed in the Bamboo section with clean and comfortable rooms in a unique style and the hotel arranged twin beds for the children who were able to stay in an adjoining room. The outstanding staff member Lee Li went beyond the call of duty in PERSONALLY arranging tickets at NIGHT to the Badaling section of the Great Wall including the taxi to / from the hotel. This was a major highlight of our entire trip to China but without Lee Li's assistance we would have missed it as not otherwise arranged by the Hotel. The Hotel's breakfast was very enjoyable with superb food catering for International tourists like ourselves. The morning shuttle to the Shuiguan section was on time and the timings provided sufficient time to see the Wall and travel to central Beijing with a stop off at the Ming Tombs on the way. If you are travelling directly to Commune by the Wall from Daxing Airport, expect a taxi drive of just under 2 hrs / 125 kms, a fare of 425 Yuan.

SingaporeBUT…. The pool was closed…. Excuse was Covid…We were informed IMMEDIATELY after booking that we need to show our HealthKit and 72 hours negative PCR test, but no one ever mentioned that the pool was closed. Seen the deep green color and the condition of the loungers, it was not open for more than a year. One of my choice to go there was the outdoor swimming pool:( The air conditioning was not working properly in the room. At our arrival, we had 23C, but at the time of going to bed, probably 29C. The contrôler was broken. It was replaced immediately, but the temperature never get down 26C during the night. The next day, We mentioned it to the reception, and some engineer came to say that everything was normal. After complaining several times, in the beginning of the afternoon, temperature went down to 23C. But again, in the evening, back to 26C. We were asking for a fan…. When you pay 2000 RMB for the room only on middle of summer….Every motel around offer better service. When we checked out, the receptionist after our complaints saw the manager on duty that offer us two bottles of red Chili basic wine and the promise of upgrade to a suite in case I come back. But he never came to apologize and the promise is only verbal, no voucher, no email… it’s a very good way, for both engineer and management to ignore and get rid of the problem. I find it arrogant and insulting. I thought that Hyatt was giving serious training about client service. This is not the case… Three of my patients and potential clients living in Beijing for very long asked me already in the next days, what I think about the place, and they think this is in unacceptable. I was planning to stay an extra night eventually, but in these conditions, no way. Will you be back ? Maybe, but never in summer, and if management acts better.
I live in Beijing for 15 years, and I always heard of Commune as a piece of art, but with low management. With Hyatt, I was expecting for nice improvement. In fact, the houses are wonderful, really superb architecture work with the very nice concept of four rooms by unit, and a huge and wonderfully designed common space. It’s like having a 200sqm suite. The grounds are well kept are cleanliness is very good. We had the chance to stay in Bamboo Wall, perfectly designed. With a lot of luggage, you can find space for everything. it was like staying in a museum, but a super comfy one. thanks Mr Kenzo Kuma… Restaurant is very good, a little expensive, but it’s normal in 5 stars place and staff very professional. Breakfast buffet is nice and fresh. Private access to the Great Wall is very enjoyable.
