This hotel is located near to the ancient town within 3 minutes walking distance . The lobby is decorated with beautiful plants n Chinese cultural style . Feel peaceful when you step in to the hotel. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful . Arrange pick up n drop off transport service too. The hotel doesn’t provide breakfast for their guest ( As there are many breakfast variety nearby the hotel ). When she knew we are vegetarian , she offers to cook vegetarian breakfast just for us , we feel so grateful for her kindness . Value for money with the good location and nice ambiance of the hotel and with clean n comfortable room.

Great location tucked away in a quiet location but very convenient to the old town and and farmers market. Manager's english was decent and he provided some guidance on our planned visit to Cangshan Mountain.

The hotel is not far from Dali Ancient City and there are many restaurants nearby. The staff were very attentive and helpful in giving information about interesting places. The morning market across the road gives a good local vibe. Traveling time from Dali train station by taxi is around 30 mins.

The owners were extremely approachable and helpful in guiding and providing recommendations for travels in Dali. Room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with no complaints. The place is very convenient with eateries around the inn. The interior of the inn is also calming and tranquil with numerous common areas for you to relax. It is also within walking distance from a few attractions such as the Three Pagoda and Dali Ancient Town.

Great location, right next to the scenic area. The hotel staff were very warm and welcoming, they gave us lots of tips on travel and itinerary, not just in dali but other places close by. Room was clean and spacious with lots of thoughtful amenities.

Location is great. Full of eateries within walking distance from the hotel and is a short walk to Dali Ancient City. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They also gave advice on where are the nice places to visit and also help us book transport for day tour and to Liijiang. Hotel is very clean.

We had such an enjoyable stay here. Location was good - it’s in a quiet area off the main street, but still convenient, within walking distance from the old town. The place was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, which gave off very relaxing, calm vibes. But above all, we really appreciate the friendliness and kindness of the staff, who gave us excellent recommendations on what to do in Dali, including places that were less touristy. They helped us make transport arrangements and put us in touch with an excellent local guide for a day trip. All of this made our trip so much more enjoyable and memorable. Thank you so much for a perfect stay :)

Lovely quiet little Inn. Excellent location walkable acrosa feom the Ancient City and the Three Pagodas and accessible by bus to the pier and the further ancient city. A family run business with very friendly and helpful staff especially the gentlemen at the front desk who was readily helpful providing assistance to plan and advise what to do and where to visit and eat. Room was big and comfortable with all you need in it. Bathroom big, Wifi good and a comfy bed. Very homely environment and clean.

Our room is on second floor, so we need to carry our luggage up the stairs. Hot and Cold water tap is the other way around.

Inn is located just beside Dali Ancient Town, Lee the receptionist has been very friendly and helpful on recommending us on how to get around and which places to visit. Room is small, but relatively clean, common area is nicely decorated and well kept, it's nice to just sit down, drink tea and rest your legs after a day's trip.

Review from my girlfriend, I couldn't go : The Yanyuan Mountain Retreat is amazing! We had wonderful experience here. Good location, 3 minutes walking to Dali old city. Pretty decoration of Elegant ink painting style, very peaceful environment, quiet and clean. We stayed in the family room, big enough for 3 people, plenty of space. Comfortable bedding with heated blankets, it doesn't feel cold even in winter, we slept very well. The staff are very patient and responsive. Complimentary bottled water will be provided. For environmental reasons, disposable toothbrushes will not be provided. Mr. Lee is very kind and we become friends, when we left he gave us flower cakes as gifts. And he also recommended us amazing restaurants with delicious dishes and affordable price. You will have a wonderful time here!

Super friendly and helpful owner, and very accommodating too. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was comfortable and very tranquil. There was also washing machines that we could use for free! The internet was strong. The location is good, we only needed to cross the road to go to the market and the centre of the old town.

It is about 20 min walk to the ancient town, which is slightly further than expected.

The hotel emits a very calm and peaceful vibe. It is so well decorated that you feel like you wanna spend more time in the hotel and soaking into the atmosphere. The room is huge and well equipped. Most importantly, the staff has been amazing! Over 3 nights stay, I felt like i have already made friends with them. They gave honest reviews of the attractions in Dali, introduced to you spots off the unbeaten path and local trustworthy drivers. They sure made Dali a better place than it already has.

Tucked in an alley amdst all the eateries, and less than 10 minutes walk to Ancient Town. Our stay at Dali Yanyuan were exceptionally good! The exceptionally good services provided by the extremely friendly hosts, Carry and Xiaoyu made my husband and I felt so at home; they constantly ensured our needs were well taken care of. The morning coffee, soup vermicelli, pomegranate, tea..thanks again Carry and Xiaoyu!
