Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI hate to say bug the location is terrible, in 40 degree heat just getting to the toad took like 10 minutes and then DiDi don’t pick up rides from here.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful from the moment i booked. They organized a little gift in the room for my in-laws anniversary. The beds were very comfortable and we slept brilliantly.

the location is great. the hotel is located near zaha hadid’s Soho business center in the quiet street in Hutongs.there are two subway stations nearby. the room was comfortable, the stuff was helpful (though no one speaks English, be prepared). there is also a bar/restaurant on the first floor, but we haven’t had a chance to visit it, but there were some always a lot of people

SingaporeLocation wise we reach hotel via taxi only to find out is a very narrow lane into the old revamp houses. its very charming and the room is clean and well designed. What was not acceptable was at the reception i was told they do not take credit card and i do not have enough cash with me. is so disappointing and i have to make my colleague paid for both the room. The payment terms has to be a little more flexible.

United KingdomSlightly confusing on arrival as the name has changed - but the signage is still for a youth hostel. Also seems like some of the photos are outdated in that sense eg. Breakfast room, breakfast isn't available anymore. There are some really good places to grab and go though so not to worry. Just a shame that it said it was included - the room photos are the same and I would go back for the room.
Great compact and comfortable room in a nice location for food and drinks.

CanadaNoisy early in the morning and late into the night, can’t even close the window. Lamps are dusty. The room is actually very small. Bit hard to hail a taxi. No lift.
Not bad value for money. Great location, close to metro and shopping area. 20 min to the Forbidden City. Easy to find shared bikes to get around. Staff helped me with the luggage. In a very clean hutong.

SingaporeIt’s in a small alley so when you book a cab sometimes the drivers refuse to drive in as it’s a one way road, so you might have to walk in. It’s quite a distance from the junction and it might not be convenient if you have multiple luggages.
It’s in a pretty central location.

United StatesI literally thought the cab driver had kidnapped me when he stopped outside the ´hotel´as the listing shows the hotel to be in a more modern, busier neighbourhood. The hotel entrance is in a back alley which is really dirty and feels like the slums. (ive added pictures) The pictures are so overly photoshopped and not what it actually looks like. I made one of those ínstagram vs reality reels with what the listing shows vs what the hotel actually looks like and its comical how bad it is. Ive attached some pictures showing you what the hotel actually looks like. I also dont believe that this place has a 8.3 star rating. There is literally no ways those reviews are real.
The rooms at least matched the pictures in the listing, staff were friendly. However does not make up for the fact that I feel like this ´hotel´(should be termed a hostel) catfished me with their overly photoshopped images.

MongoliaThe linen was very clean, the bed was comfortable. The toilet was clean, but it smelled of something. The floor was parquet, but they didn’t clean the floor at all. I was there for 7 days 6 nights. I told them twice to clean the floor. But they never cleaned the floor. There was a lot of dust and human hair on the floor.
I liked the location, the hotel is located next to Wangfujing Road. But the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are not located near the hotel at all.

South KoreaIt’s a hostel and not a hotel. None of the facilities listed are available. I.e room service, wine bar , restaurant for dinner, non smoking all around, ATM and so on. The staff was pleasant but did not speak English. The toilet and the bathroom had a very interesting smell, so doors had to be closed at all times.

United KingdomThe hotel location was situated a fair walk from Tian’anmen square and forbidden palace . Too far to walk but there was a metro within 400m .
It was close to the main shopping area which was good . The rooms were very comfortable and d well equipped but don’t expect a large hotel. This is a small hotel located down a local hutong. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
