The corridor from the lift lobby on guest floors appear to be very dim. It should be brighter to ensure safety of travellers. Whilst the room was comfortable and clean, it does look quite dated and old fashioned.

The size of the room was very comfortable and had more than sufficient space for 2 persons. The area had lots of food options especially at night with the night stalls by the ferris wheel and Riverside. The room was very clean, the staff were very helpful. The location also easily accessible via taxi or didi to key attractions in the city.

Locating is very good and near to Tianjin Eye and the river front. Very limited options for the vegetarians for Break Fast.

The hotel is not that new, you can tell from the design and equipment inside, breakfast could be a bit better, and the beds were too soft for my back. Overall if it was cheaper I would have rated 9 but with current price max 8.

At 8.00am on our second morning some work began in what seemed to be the hotel room above us. It was very loud, possibly drilling or hammering, so we were unable to sleep in or enjoy the solitude of the room. I don't imagine this happens often but I would have liked to know in advance so we could have possibly changed rooms the day before (although we understand it may have been an emergency repair).

Great location, right by the Tianjin Eye with various Chinese restaurants and some take-away places right nearby. The pool was clean (don't forget a bathing cap!) and the buffet breakfast was really good. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by the options available to me. The beer garden in the hotel was pleasant and reasonably priced, and Jason (one of the staff) made us feel very welcome. In fact, all the staff we dealt with were very nice and helpful during our stay. The bed was really comfortable and the hotel in general was quiet, so we slept really well.

The air-conditioning system was not working at all. Room became stuffy unless I open a small opening of the window. In the day, the room felt like an oven but between 3 to 6 am in the morning, the room became so cold because of the wind. When I checked with the front desk, they had the maintenance staff bring us a fan instead. Hinge of a wardrobe sags so it cannot be closed properly. This is the worst Holiday Inn I've stayed in so far. Breakfast spread is also rather limited.

Staff were helpful however during check-in, there was only 1 staff at counter in the entire lobby. Hotel location is pretty good. In the evening, by the river bank, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained.

The heating/AC at the Holiday Inn was terrible. It kept running even when turned off, so it was like sleeping in a sauna. We couldn't get any rest. We complained and they gave us a fan, but that's not what you expect from a Holiday Inn.

Air condition is the room was not working and I called the reception who after long discussion inform that duty Manager, Mr. Peter will visit your room. Mr. Peter apologized and said that he he can not do anything as air condition is down; however he brought a fan and opened the window where we could not sleep because of noise and mosquitos. very uncomfortable stay. Bathroom smelled terrible. App for ordering room service didn't work, no beer available at the bar, just a self service shop. Breakfast was good but overpriced. Was required to leave 3000 deposit and overcharged for the room. Wouldn't stay again.

1. Fridge was broken so had to be replaced when our drinks were not getting cold. 2. No can opener in room. 3. No toilet paper- just a half finished roll on the holder. We had to request for it. 4. Room service was good but food for the first day- lunch was terrible. 5. No pamphlets in English to tell us what was nearby the hotel to do. 6. Room had a musty smell. 7. We left our bags there and when we came back at 3 we wanted a snack/lunch, non of the places in the hitel were open or served any food including the lounge downstairs. 8 . At checkout, the lady there asked me to pay for the room and room service . I had to remind her that I paid for the room and a deposit when we checked in! This should be in the records. 10. I will not be recommending your hotel to anyone.
