Difficult access to his guest house for older people like us . Thankfully Jacky and his staff helped us with the luggage.

Jacky speaks fluent English and was a great help to us. He came to get us in Jianshui and took great care of us. Took us to a wonderful site to see the terrace fields at sunset and the famous Niu Jiao Zhai Market. The location of his guest house is within walking distance to Duoyishu view point for the sunrise. Jacky upgraded our room so we could see the terrace fields of the Duoyishu fields from our room. Our stay in Yuanyang was a memorable one thanks to him.

Jacky and his friends are such kind, warm and thoughtful hosts. They gave us very practical tips to hike around the rice terraces and offered many helps to take care of our friend who was badly sick. We're very thankful to Jacky and his team and would love to come back again 👍

Very friendly host Jacky and dog Duoduo! Jacky speaks very fluent English and has very interesting stories to share. It was a very nice experience staying in the village, very natural compared to many commercialised tourist places in Yunnan. As all the villages in the region, you have to take stairs down to the village from the main road. The village is very well located and taking the many shared SUV/minivan transport to and from other villages is easy. The view from the hostel was great. Jacky gave me very good suggestions as to what to see and what trail through the villages to take during my short stay. Jacky made breakfast and dinner and also helped me book my bus ticket back to Kunming (there is one bus back from Xinjie through Yuanyang Nansha in the morning).

Jacky is lovely, helpful, a nice human being. He gave us nice indication to do a trek in the rice terrace. We had a great stay at his hotel. The room was beautiful. The view is great. And the food amazing. I definitely recommend.

We stayed at Jacky’s for three nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Yunnan. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. The view from the windows is mesmerizing - I highly recommend the inn :) What really makes this place special though, is the owner. Jacky is the warmest and most helpful host ever - he assisted us with planning the hiking routes and picked us up when we were left stranded in the night due to our poor time management. One really couldn’t hope for a better experience while traveling :)

One of my most fabulous stays ever, and believe me, I am travelling a lot. I think it is the first time I felt at home in a guesthouse. Jacky is a unbelievably talented host. He speaks perfect English and helped me a LOT before the stay to organize my trip. He drove me to the nicest views of the ricefields (not the official viewpoints), to an amazing non-touristic local market. During the drives, we had a lot of exchanges about China, France and all sorts of topics. Having lived abroad, he is very well aware of what Western tourists are looking for, when visiting Yuanyang, it is so appreciated. On the practical side the hotel is in the middle of a traditionel Hani village. it has an amazing sunrise view on the ricefields. I was upgraded to the most magnificient room ever, beautiful windows overlooking the ricefields. The mattresses are SO confortable. the rooms were super clean. Maime's food is absolutely delicious. I couldn't praise enough this guestroom. The good reviews are SO deserved. Thank you again for everything, Jacky. (and Maime too!)

Beautiful place overlooking the terraces. Jacky is a great and very helpful person. He speaks English, is quick with answering questions on the phone, and knows the area well. He gave me an upgrade to a room overlooking the area, and he made me special dinner I could eat on the rooftop terras. The place is beautiful, the room is big with a huge bed with very comfortable cushions and a mattress.Toiletries are supplied. From the place you have easy and free excess to the terracces. There are small supermarkets and local restaurants around. Jacky was so kind to help me book a bus ticket, make sure I woke up to catch my mini bus, and even helped me haile one down.

Jacky is an amazing host with an absolutely gorgeous property full of beautiful rooms with views of the terraces. He has been doing this for over 10 years, and knows the region better than anyone. You won't find a better place or value in Yuanyang!!
