Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe beds weren't the comfiest, but that wasn't really a problem for us.
This was such a wonderful and unique place to stay! The staff were very helpful. They arranged transportation to and from the airport for us, kept the restaurant open for us, and even brought us breakfast in our yurt since we were there in the off-season. Everything was very clean and there was a western-style toilet available if needed. It was so special to wake up among the mountains. The location is an easy 10-minute walk to the gate of Rainbow Mountains park, so it's perfect for visiting. We enjoyed the hot pot dinner in the restaurant yurt. If you're not a fan of hot pot, there are also restaurants across from the park gate (so an easy walk away) and we also had a delicious meal at one of those.

United StatesStaff seems didn’t know about the public buses from Zhangye West station to the NP. They offer pick up service which costs around 300RMB round trip but you can take a bus from the West Bus station which costs only 15RMB to the North entrance and take a taxi to the tent camping site.
I didn’t expect a camping tent can be organized and so clean like a hotel. The tent is very well equipped. There’s a heater with heating blanket. Kettle with cups and table and chair. The shared bathroom and toilet are very clean and organized. Location is also great. It’s 5’ walk to the west entrance of Zhangye park. This is perfect if you wanna see sunrise and sunset.

AustraliaLimited food options for dinner and food was quite expensive. Bright lights around camp ruined view of night sky. As mentioned by previous guests, families should be housed away from solo travellers, there we're loud children each night and the tent's aren't sound proofed. Easy solution would be to keep families with small children in seperate area.
Amazing location right near the entrance to the national park, beautiful yurts in nice setting. Breakfast buffet was excellent - best I had in all of China. Staff very helpful, drove me to other scenic areas nearby and even took me to a lesser known one, extra-terrestrial valley... highly recommended! Thanks for making my stay in such a special place even more special.

DenmarkBreakfast was a bit dry. It would be better to serve portions to each guests instead of a buffet, when there are few people. But it was still nice to have breakfast included :-)
Great place! 10 minutes walk to the west entrance to the rainbow mountains. Service was above average (when we arrived we were driven to a place to have lunch). You can eat hotpot for dinner. Tents are very comfortable!!

TaiwanThe morning that I left there was very loud construction happening on the property that started at 7:00 am. I was extremely frustrated. Also, the only thing they offer for dinner is hot pot. It would be nice to have more options.
The staff was very helpful and some of them spoke English. The location was very good, only 600 meters from the entrance of Danxia National Geopark. At night it was very quiet and I could see thousands of stars, quite a treat in China. I also really liked the yurt I was staying in.

ChinaWell these are tents, so as a customer, don't make too much noise at night! :D
The hotel and staff were very nice. Eventhough it was quiet because of the pandemic they offered full service, the breakfast buffet was still open and very nice (loved the waffels and coffee). On the first day for dinner we did the hotpot, which was very pleasant. The tents are a lot of fun to spend a few nights in. The location is also perfect, close to the main tourist spots. Special note about the cute dog, ready to cuddle with all the customers, so lovely.

ChinaThe management should group families together in the same part of the camp away from travelers without children. The reason is that families are likely to keep to a different schedule than adult travelers. Travelers without children are likely to go to bed early so they can get up at 430AM and go see the sunrise at the dunes. By contrast, families with kids are much less likely to attempt this. Instead, they will stay up later and continue making noise later. It is for this reason that families and childless travelers should be grouped separately. All that said, I do not think this issue overly impacted my stay. On a different note, if you're less interested in visiting the dunes at different times of day to take pictures and more interested in hitting multiple sights in the area like temples and such then it may be better to stay in Zhangye town after all because it will be easier/cheaper to organize day tours from there.
If you're in Zhangye to photograph the dunes, this is the place to stay. It's right not to the park and you can pop over for both sunrise and sunset while easily returning to your yurt inbetween. In fact, it is so close to the park that it is basically in it, some of the dunes forming a dramatic backdrop immediately behind the camp. There is also an adjacent wash which you can hike up if so inclined and this too is outside the park. As for the facilities, its more like "glamping." Showers are great. They even have disposable razors and all that sort of thing. Lots of hot water. The rainbow lighting of the dunes at night is s little kitchscy but beautiful. It is a very distinctive place to stay, that is for sure. It should probably be more popular than it appears to be. There is not much to the town and it is far away. I am happy to have stayed somewhere closer to nature.

FranceSound isolation is of course weak, but you can expect this in the tents and there are signs around asking people to speak in a low voice.
Very nice place, beautiful location and well maintained. Common areas and bathrooms are clean. The toilets structure could be a bit improved though. The breakfast was quite OK.

ChinaThe beds a bit hard and uncomfortable but honestly that’s what I was expecting so not complaining just being up front. The place is very clean and staff are very kind and helpful! Excellent location. Would totally go back again. My family of 7 stayed in two yurts, we pushed two beds together and had plenty of room (children ages: 15, 12, 11, 7 & 2).

ChinaShared bathrooms (separate women's and men's) were all fine and showers were very good in that the water pressure was great, toiletries were lovely and water was hot; also fresh towels were waiting as well as shower shoes (sliders) if you needed them. I would say though that the shower and toilet block could do with a bit of decorating attention so that they come up to the high standards of the rest of the site. Note the beds are not western mattresses but are comfortable.
Super-friendly host David, very helpful staff overall, David came to pick us up from the station, delivered safely to site where we loved seeing the yurts that we were going to stay in! Our yurt was super-clean, lovely bedding, spacious and had all mod cons. The site is tucked next to the edge of the Rainbow Mountains park and a 10minute walk to the West Gate (I think it's the West gate!) A fantastic location, gorgeous breakfast, might need your own transport but David organised a driver for us who was great. Dinner was self-service BBQ which was ok.

ChinaThe breakfast did not have a wide selection of food items. It would be helpful for hotel to have regular tea bags and hot water for guest. In case they do not like coffee or herbal tea. The table clothes in the restaurant area were not very clean.

United StatesWhen we reserved the pickup service from the train station, the driver of the car drove a bit carelessly. Also with the temperature outside of about 40 Celsius, it was quite hot inside the car. Apparently the car has no AC. Maybe in the future, David should select appropriate car and driver for the service.
Location is very close to the Danxia Rainbow mountain. All staff are very nice and helpful. David is very responsive in communication which make our stay very convenient. He took us around the city to visit the Giant Buddha temple.

ChinaThe shower facilities smelled like mildew and only one of four toilets in the toilet blocks near my tent was a sitter - the three others were squatters.
