An exceptionally cozy place in downtown Bejing. Hidden at the end of a small street / hutong, it is quiet, tranquil and welcoming. The rooms are arranged around a central couryard. Everything is nice and tidy, this really feels like a homestay rather than an impersonal hotel. The manager speaks the best English I got to hear in China in my few weeks there, knows everything about Beijing and can arrange anything you'd need. The location perfect, within walking distance from the main Beijing tourist attractions. There are two things to take note of: - The location on Google Maps is incorrect. Booking.com and openstreemaps have the correct location. - The wooden walls open to the courtyard and there is not much noise protection between the public space and your room. I would not go there with a toddler, and you should also stay quiet at late hours in the courtyard itself.

Mark is excellent. I really wish him a great future. He has been so good with us. He made our stay in Beijing enjoyable and easy. He gave us very clear information and wrote for us all the indications in English and Chinese to arrive to the places that we wanted to visit. He speaks very good English. He helped us with all the bookings, etc. The place is nice, very clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable and there is a good shower. Breakfast is included.

I could hear other guests speaking in the morning and night while I was in my room. Breakfast was western and not great.

The hotel is in a great location - very close to several restaurants and also two metro stations. The courtyard is lovely, a traditional Chinese courtyard located in a hutong. Mark, the host, was very helpful in advising me about the entry policies for various attractions. I really enjoyed the rose pastries for breakfast too!

The soundproofing is not very good so you can hear what all the other guests are doing.

Hotel owner was very helpful giving tips on travel and tourism. The hotel staff were also very friendly. Location is close to the city centre and close to the underground.

The manager Mark was exceptional, so friendly and helpful. The hotel had a relaxed, happy vibe and a great atmosphere. The traditional houtong layout of rooms around the courtyard was very interesting to experience. Also the area it is in is great with a local neighbourhood feel and lots of good restaurants.

Bathroom a bit small. When taking a shower the toilet gets all wet.

Mark is terrific. Fluent English. Super helpful and kind. Bend over backwards to accommodate us. Gave us directions and instructed us on how to make reservations for sites. The courtyard is so charming.

Because of the courtyard layout, it can be noisy at night if other guests are up late so I would recommend bringing earplugs.

Kelly’s courtyard is an awesome property if you are after a more traditional, affordable, boutique stay among the Beijing Hutongs The location is very quiet yet central, only a few stops away from the main attractions like Forbidden City. The host is super approachable and helpful with any needs we had such as ordering a taxi to the airport and there is laundry and drinks on site too for a small additional charge.

The staff were very friendly and easily to communicate with, they also gave lots of tips for site visiting, transportation etc. We liked the yard the most, very comfortable. But it's pity that the weather was too hot to enjoy the rooftop.

The hostel was excellent and the host was super kind and helpful. It was our first stay in China and the flight company lost our luggage, but he managed to help us and get our backpacks by the next day, incredible! Highly recommended, the place is really beautiful and quiet, and you can ask for explanations on what to do in Beijing in good english.
