    The Nespresso machine in our room didn't work.

    We loved that this hotel is connected to the mall so there are dining and entertainment options for us. We didn't get to enjoy breakfast because we had to leave early for the airport. We were able to request a packed breakfast that we could take with us. There were also English channels available on the TV. Since the toiletries were in refillable bottles, it was very thoughtful to have a small bottle of lotion available for guests.

    The hotel said there were two restaurants, however the western restaurant was closed in the evening. The Chinese restaurant staff laughed nervously when we arrived and brought us to the front desk in a panic. Not quite the welcome you expect in a restaurant. The front desk explained that the Chinese restaurant was not run by the hotel. The spa looked beautiful, however there was no price list available, one of the staff members tried her best to explain the offers as her colleagues laughed. I have no issue with a language barrier but I don’t expect staff to laugh at customers. It made me feel extremely unwelcome and I decided not to spend my money in the hotel spa. I understand that some staff might feel nervous around foreign customers but the hotel should provide them with training. With the number of apps available in Chinese there is no issue communicating with people - we had great success in the mall and were welcomed with a smile.

    Lucian on the front desk was absolutely wonderful, he welcomed us with a big smile, explained the layout of the hotel and was available throughout our stay for anything we needed. The hotel is connected to a shopping centre with plenty of local restaurants and some western options such as Pizza Hut. We tried the miss shiwawa on the 3/4th floor which was really nice. The room was beautiful and very comfortable.

    Very rude receptionist and manager who did not address it. No welcome or thank you! Three weeks of travelling in this group’s hotels and this has to be the worst experience of customer service. Even for China, this service is shocking.
