I know I had booked a room without a window, that was fine. But the temperature was unbearably high, around 26 degrees. Even though this is a smaller hotel, it suffers from the same problem of the accommodation not turning on the air conditioning before a certain date. The air conditioning was only blowing hot air, making things worse. The staff was kind enough to provide me with a fan, but I really think this should not have been necessary at all. Rooms just need to have a comfortable temperature. The staff's comment that I couldn't get fresh cool air because I had chosen a room without a window made me feel like I was being blamed for their problem. While fine for my purposes (sleep and work), the room is rather small, so you might want to go for a more larger option at this location. Note that the nearest metro stations are a bit of a walk (15 minutes) away.

The staff is really helpful and friendly. The hotel is actually more 'hostel' style and has many catering options. If you don't like to stay in Shanghai's hustle and bustle, this quiet location close to the Pu River and in what seems to be an art district might be just what you need.

Lack of windows in many rooms. Lighting of rooms sometimes not strong enough to give a warm and welcoming feeling. Distance from metro station. Some internal cc circuit not working (even if listed among those served by the structure). Poor English level of the staff (quite common in China, less expected in shanghai)

Good room’s Interior design. Services like free beverages in the rooms. Kindness of the staff.

Bathroom without door is very uncomfortable, the style in general can be appreciated or not it depends on personal view, the room sometimes was cold.

Great place, would highly recommended, nice to stay slightly out of the madness that is central Shanghai, place was great, near the metro, room were unique. Hotel offered free coffee or beer daily for the people in the room. Staff were very accommodating when we needed to extend our stay multiple times. Food in the bistro was excellent, the breakfast offered with stay may not be for everyone, they don’t offer much for vegetarian or vegans

The staff were really helpful and friendly , available around the clock which proved more useful than expected! Great stay and really good with foreigners would recommend staying here to friends.

There was no AC in the pod! I was being grilled for 3 days. The reception got me a fan but the pod is closed without ventilation at all so even the fan didn't help at all. I had to keep the door open to let some fresh air in. The pods were so tiny, but It was fine since it was only a few nights. Bathrooms need regular cleaning. Not close to stations, you'll have to taxi to most places.

The walk to the hotel is perhaps a bit longer than to other hotels, but this didn't bother me. There is nothing else to complain.

Exceptional value for money. I paid very little for my own room on a layover in Shanghai and the facilities were roomy and very clean. Staff were very helpful with explaining how the menu works and showing me around. I totally recommend this place.

Room temperatures were found to be mixed within the group, but fans were brought to rooms that were warm, wasn’t an issue for our room

Great place considering it wasn’t in the centre of Shanghai, taxis were about £2 to the centre, and about 5 minute walk to the metro. Staff were really friendly and nothing was an issue, cool building, very cool styled rooms

Quiet neighbourhood

Even though the hotel is not in the city centre, we still loved its location! It is in a quiet neighbourhood in an old industrial factory building, which adds a very nice flair. It is also very close to the river, where you can walk along the river bank with great views and reach the centre in about 45 minutes. Otherwise there is also good public transport accessible from the hotel. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The design and vibe of the place is sublime. The location of the hotel is also quite nice, about a 10min taxi from central. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a try!
