Not much for shopping, eating or drinking in the immediate surroundings. Fitness center and swimming pool all pleasant and conveniently close to each other, but changing rooms a bit crammed with only one shower.

Central location, friendly staff helpful for booking taxis, good breakfast à la française, cozy rooms stylishly decorated while providing modern comfort. Kudos for the well-stocked evening cocktail on the 7th floor.

The gym is small. There is another small gym in the other Sofitel hotel nearby. Would be better having one larger gym with more equipment and machines to serve both hotels. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi also need to be booked and prepared in advance which is a bit inconvenient. Nobody told us about free soft drinks during the daytime in the ground floor bar which we had access to with our room. We only found about this on the last evening.

Staff were excellent. Building, grounds and location are very impressive. Rooms are also very nice and in good condition.

It is a luxury hotel in a historic building where the staff goes out of their way to help you have a pleasant stay. An extensive breakfast buffet and delicious snacks are served in the open bar in the afternoon.

Luxury hotel, equal or superior to some of the finest and most exclusive hotels I've used in France, Germany, Italy, USA and Turkey. Remodeled huge rooms/suites with classic European styling. Much much better than any Sofitel I've ever stayed in. Staff were attentive, polite, and always going out of their way to help. Incredible value. Relatively close to major attractions in the city.

The common areas were too cold, to the point that I did not use the swimming pool. Also, the mattress was sitting on a wooden board which is not ideal (you would expect a proper base)

Best location in town, nicely appointed room in a traditional European style that doesn't feel overwhelming. Best international breakfast I had in China. Super flexibile with check in and check out which I really appreciated. Kind staff, the head butler stood out in particular for his highly attentive service and good English.

There was just a few things that we found to be a little bit annoying - a/c was tuned off in the building because of the winter season , we stayed in late October but it was unusually hot day , so we’d prefer to cool the room before sleep. We weren’t told in advance that a/c is off in the building and spent long minutes trying to make it work using the in-room control , so I advice to inform guests upon arrival - requested child bed was not in the room, however it was quickly arranged

Almost everything - perfect location and historical fill of the place , very comfortable and spacious room. It was like staying in a country side hotel even as it is located in the mid of the large city

Everything was perfect.

The stay was really perfect, especially because of the amazing and very attentive staff - always ready to support, everyone was doing their best throughout the day to make it enjoyable. Whenever you would leave the room, you would come back and find it cleaned, some sweets and other small treats added, the minibar re-filled. Very comfortable room and bed.

One of the best experiences I had traveling in China. The staff - especially Fancy and Eva - went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was great, rooms very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

Hotel is clearly run in old style fashion without real attention to guests. Food was terrible, which is something quite difficult in China. Room service in particular was incredibly poor for an hotel of this standing.
