How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Not much! Pillows were a bit flat but they do give you extra ones in the wardrobe.
Location was very good - directly opposite many restaurants in xintiandi and a 5 min walk to many malls. Check in/check out staff were very efficient and friendly. Room layout was great, enough international plug points and lots of space to move around the room.

I have no complaints at all.
Langham Xintiandi is situated in privileged location with excellent stores and restaurants in the surroundings, close to the Bundt , Nanjing Rd , Yu Garden and other attractions. The room is spatious, very clean .At the club level the meals and snacks are excellent . The hotel staff is outstanding and courteous, especially the group that work at Langham club.

The cost of breakfast is too high.

Only fault is that I found the room a little bit too dark, ideal for sleeping but not so great when getting ready to go out
Great location with all the restaurant/bars/shops in very close proximately Staff couldn't do enough for you, very helpful and professional Clean and comfortable rooms We used the spa which was also excellent service and facilities. Easy to book appointments prior to arrival

cleanliness needs to be improved. there are obvious water stains in the bathroom. the bed fence provided are quite dirty (not comfortable for my kids to use). some of the facility are old, the bedside power socket is not working.
Hotel location is quite convenient. Room size is quite good and the room bed is quite comfortable. Hotel staff are nice.

When we checked in the room, it was filled with strong smell of cigarette. After complaining to the front desk, we have been upgraded to a bigger room which is also next to our family’s room.

You have to wear a swimming cap in the pool which I found a bit random

Staffs are super nice and helpful Big thanks for the luggage department: Jonny Chen , very helpful for providing local information Thank you for keeping all of my courier deliveries ( online shopping) Club lounge : Zoe ( the manger ) very efficient and kind Olivia , nice lady . Great service. Very chatty Mason , good and helpful service The room attendant: Helen . Thanks for your extra water .. for the room Overall the staffs are very nice and helpful The room does need upgrades somehow . The wooden bath tub needs replacing and the paint is fading and cracks , the carpet needs a good clean . Bedside table surface is chipped due to beverage spills over the years . Overall, the high light of the hotel is the staffs are excellent. The food is good. The location is ok ,not a walking distance to the NANJING PEDESTRIAN STREET. And the Bund . But it is a short taxi ride or DIDI ride at a very affordable price!

I loved everything in this hotel. However visitors to shanghai must know that hotel room temperature is set to 19.5* to 22* degree Celsius in almost all hotels in shanghai, which could be not cold enough if your used to sleeping in a very cold room
Amazing location in a high end shopping area with lots of food options, And the hotel and staff are spectacular. The things a loved the most are: - Great value for money. -The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet -The room service food was amazing
