Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe toiletries were not sufficient for a stay for 2 adults. Delivery service to the room would be an added touch of convenience.
The property was large with good amenities and close to the city center. The fitness center was exceptional. An overall good stay!

ChinaI wasn't impressed. We got no information about where things were when we checked in. We left my daughter's teddy bear and tired to arrange them to send it to us in Hangzhou but that never happened. It so happened that we visited Shanghai the 3 weeks later and I went to the Westin and got the teddy bear back and left. I think I over paid because we came during the China's 100 year anniversary.
They had a good breakfast with a cheese station and salmon and ham. Croissants were good. I heard that their Sunday Brunch is great.

ChinaBedroom - we paid for a room for 3, the third bed was a tiny sofa, okay for our 5-year-old, just. In the other two rooms, we booked the sofas were large enough for an adult. Not enough hangers in the bathroom to hang towels and clothes. Slow to respond to Covid enquiries and given incorrect information Slow check in- very busy, but not all check-in stations manned We would have given an overall 10 except for these points
Breakfast - Include breakfast when booking the room(s) expensive. Plenty of choice and staff more than helpful Lobby area - plenty of space and very inviting, includes a restaurant in the atrium, coffee shop and cafe. The concierge was helpful but not very knowledgeable about the local area. Location - couldn't fault the location, Bund, Nanjing Road, and many other places within 15-25 minutes walk (even with a 5-year-old) Leisure facilities - decent pool not deep and fills up with swimmers quickly, spa facilities, weights room, cardio room, gym room, something for everyone. Service- excellent service, immediate and helpful. Tips - Ask for a high floor looking towards Pudong CBD. If you have 3 in your party make sure they know it's, adults, children teenagers etc so you get a good size sofa. Most sockets are the British 3 pin square, bring an adapter. Bring in your own snacks and drinks, mini bar is expensive. The Hotel does have connecting rooms useful for a group of more than 3. Arrange your own taxi to the Hotel from the airport, cheaper. Going to the airport allow about an hour, Friday evening traffic on the elevated ring road very busy! In the summer we had a routine of an earlyish breakfast, morning sightseeing, local lunch, swimming/chill out local dinner and evening walk around the Bund, Nanjing Road and neighbourhood worked well for teenagers and a 5-year-old. Plenty of small restaurants around Cantonese style, Hong Kong style, Pizza Marzano (Express) BK, McD, KFC etc within 15 minutes walk in the Bund and Nanjing road areas. Great morning walk down Nanjing road to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Pudong via the tourist bizarre tourist tunnel Nanshi old town/Yu Garden visit in the morning - gets Very busy! Summer is very hot and sweaty, winter can be very cold with the wind down the river

Germanyonly small things... - english skills of some employees still a lot of space to be better for this kind of hotel category and price level - sockets not 100% friendly for international visitors and condition of sockets (socket of USB and others on the working desk) not the best one (room 2608) - condition of handles in the shower and their function need to be maintained. - consider the quality debts mention above, slightly overpriced with 200 USD per night, but maybe because of exhibition surcharges...
Overall the important things to remember a stay in a Hotel as positive has been fine. - loction very good - staff very helpful and pro active and customer oriented - room with nice layout, comfortable bed, internet good connection, AC also good. - breakfast good

TaiwanThere is a little lack of staff’s communication ability. Here is an example. The benefits rules(Breakfast & executive bar )of the room didn’t showed as a really clear way. I had to checked for three and given by three different answers. It should be showed in the beginning of the order but it didn’t. Hope the system will get better when next time’s order.
Location is amazing. It is between 豫園 and 外灘。

PhilippinesNot much. The food was not much to my liking, unfortunately. I found their pizza in Prego to be very well made.
The location of neighborhood was safe, bright and clean. Within a 5 minute walk to the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Shopping Street and about a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station which is the Yuyuan Garden Station which is also the old Chinatown District of Shanghai. There are many shops and restaurants three blocks from the hotel. The check in front desk person, Miss Belle was very helpful and efficient. The concierge person, Mr Fred Yao was also very helpful. Many in the management team were in the lobby observing and movements of their guests.
