Rooms good except for one thing: we had some “old-castle” smell in the room + flying insects (moles?).

Ideal location. Two exits - one to the Bund on the river, other to taxis. Breakfast is good + personnel helpful, bringing extras (like fresh avocado) on request. Gym small but with pretty much everything you need on the road. Nice bar downstairs with live music playing on friday + they had some funny sculptures exhibition on the way to the Bund. Lots of good restaurants around.

Breakfast ask for pot of boiling water on both occasions came lukewarm. Also had to keep reminding of my breakfast order as they would forget!

Though, for coffee I would like a coffee pot and bigger cups, rather than small cups and ask to bring 'one more' several times. Of course, I would like a lower price, but good things do not come cheap.

Breakfast was very good. The view from the room (river view) was awesome. Location is perfect. Overall, the ambience, the long bar and music there, helpful staff are superb. Will definitely stay there again.

The only thing we’d like seeing improvements on is the breakfast options. The chinese breakfast options lack the basic noodle soup, wonton soup, soup dumplings and fried dough. The western style breakfast items such as egg Benedict, avocado toast and omelets are not made right.

The location is the best. The room, facilities and staff are all top-notch. The room is spacious, the beds are comfortable. Best of all is the AC in hot summer days in Shanghai, which is pleasantly adequate as in the US.

They held a Thanksgiving dinner at the open dining room and the animator lady for Bingo game was just horribly loud. Her ear-splitting screams roared throughout the ground floor of the hotel.

With the current covid 19 situation in China making the locals hostile towards foreigners, the stuff at the hotel were amazing throughout and the room was very beautiful.

I thought all of it was excellent. Opening hours for bars and restaurants should be posted where it is easier to find.

The breakfast was amazing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. When I had an issue with my coffee maker, they quickly replaced it. The room and the bed were very comfortable. I would recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel is in great location and it certainly pays to get a room with the view, as it is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The bed is soft and nice too.

The architectural significance and historical importance of the hotel made this a unique venue. The professionalism of the staff was exceptional and breakfast was a delight.

I really cannot find areas to improve but perhaps drinks in the bar are somewhat overpriced.

In my experience rarely does a 5 Star hotel exceed expectations. The Waldorf is truly an exceptional hotel and manages to deliver an experience that matches its renowned history. The panoramic river views are second to none, service and food are outstanding and the staff go the extra mile. When we return to Shanghai we will not consider any other hotel.

Home of luxury and comfort, big airy and light room, appliances great same as furnishing. Mattress is a dream. No need to go out for food and drink. Everything is great and reasonably priced comparing to the similar quality restaurants in Shanghai. Eggs Royale for breakfast was the final touch to complete satisfaction

Breakfast to me was poor, juices watered for sure, speciality options not pleasant, Coffe is basic unless you order Latte/American etc. I wold rate breakfast as poor!

We paid for an Upgrade to a suite at 2300 RMB extra per night. Room on top floor great view, was it worth it, probably not. Suite should include club facilities in my opinion. Cost 11700 RMB for two nights including Breakfast, that's more than 500 GBP a night.

I had a luggage kept in the hotel. I was looking for it during check out and they can’t find it. I checked out at 5am and the staff mentioned he cant find it because he doesnt know where the others kept the luggages. I am on the way to the airport without my luggage now and I am unsure if they will be able to find it. Very uncooperative and now we have a missing luggage
