Very nice location, very quiet and with a lot of charm. The host is also very helpful, he will help you to book transportation from/to the airport and will also help you with park tickets. There is a free shuttle to the park entrance (5min drive). I can only recommend this wonderful place !

The views from the hotel were amazing and peaceful! The staff went above and beyond with our needs and was very thoughtful. There are activities to participate and cute pets to play with. Super close to the national park (5mins away).

We had a very good and memorable experience here! The hotel staff went above and beyond to help me plan a marriage proposal in their facilities. This place was perfectly romantic with the view of the mountains and the tranquility of the area. We used their bubble bath (very relaxing) and really enjoyed our room with view of the mountains. We had more tea than we could’ve hoped for from their amazing and super kind tea master. We also used their shuttle service to the national park entrance and got ideas for an itinerary, that was very convenient. Oh, and our room had floor heating which was very comfortable and nice. Definitely coming back and recommend it, either as a base to come back to after seeing Zhangjiajie’s marvels or even just to stay in the hotel and enjoy the peace of the mountains!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Valley 5 Lodge, and my experience was nothing short of magical. From the warm welcome by Rain, the exceptional staff member, to the cozy family suite and the array of activities, every moment surpassed my expectations. Rain's professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine warmth set the tone for our stay. The pride Valley 5 Lodge takes in providing outstanding service is evident, and any queries or requests were met with a smile, making us feel truly valued. They planned our itinerary for the visits to the park and were absolutely helpful in suggesting other activities. Our family of 4 stayed in the Family Suite, a spacious and tastefully decorated haven. The heated floors and hot bath were perfect for the winter season, and the nightly fireplace setup added a beautifully cozy touch to our evenings. The daily activities provided by Valley 5 Lodge were a highlight. From a delightful local candy-making session to arts and crafts for the kids, there was something for everyone. Our children had a blast, and the best part was they got to bring home their creations. The lodge's location on the hills offered a breathtaking view of the Valley, a picturesque sight that greeted us each morning at breakfast. Speaking of which, while the breakfast was simple, it was more than adequate, and the stunning backdrop made every meal special. In conclusion, I highly recommend Valley 5 Lodge for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps during the summer season, to experience the exceptional hospitality once again. The whole area is like a resort with facilities like karaoke room, dining, jacuzzi, swimming pool. Service is also great, as they are attentive. The breakfast was delicious.

Mixing comfort with local Chinese traditions. Great tea experience, food and infinity pool. Position is great to go to Avatar mountains entrance (free shuttle bus taking only 5 mins). The perfect place to stay while visiting Zhangjiajie national park. The resort is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by rice fields. It's a mix of village life with modern comfort. However, the thing that really makes this place so exceptional is the level of service. Rain, our contact person in the resort, was so great. He contacted us in advance to make sure that we will have everything we need. While in the resort he created for us a WeChat support group in which all the relevant personnel could attend to every need that we may have. Rain helped us to plan our visit in the park and assist us with the tickets purchase. The Park can be confusing even for experienced tourists, but Rain assistance made the visit so much easier. I highly recommend this place and hope to visit it again.

Gorgeous, scenic stay with beautiful surroundings and idyllic pool. Rain and the team were incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we could possibly need, always on hand and going above and beyond! The free shuttle made it super easy to get to the national park and it was a perfect location for a few days exploring. Rain provided an incredibly helpful map which made navigating tge park so simple - the mandarin version was also really helpful to check with bus drivers etc that we were going the right direction. Rain also organised our shuttle to the airport which was very convenient. The food was lovely - we especially enjoyed the tasty, freshly cooked noodles at breakfast. An added bonus was Happy, the gorgeous onside dog who we visited at every opportunity. Rain and the team also kindly organised activities during our stay for guests when it was very rainy. Our room was modern and beautifully finished. We also loved the projector in our room which was fab for rainy day movie nights.

Everything was exceptional. I’ve never felt so cared for at a hotel and I travel quite a bit. From arrangements made to visit parks, to an unbelievably good breakfast and dinner! Try the duck, it’s fantastic.

The lodge was beautiful, scenic, and had a great blend of an old remote village for its peacefulness and simplicity but also modern comfort. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Rain, the receptionist, helped us plan everything thing and bought our tickets which enabled us to see all the key spots within our stay. The food was also really good - did not need to go out into town and we were absolutely happy to have the dinners at the lodge everynight, though I recommend trying 1 or 2 spots in town during your stay.

there was nothing we disliked, it totally met our expectations.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. there was a real family feel. Rain was such an awesome host! He was very helpful in arranging our trips into the national Forest. Then he set up the hot tub each evening for us to enjoy the awesome views with our kids. The beds were super comfortable and we enjoyed having a fire cute fire place to snuggle up as a family. The food was great and they were very accommodating for our picky eaters 😀. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay again.

The property needs some maintenance work done.

Location was great. Prefect for a quiet retreat. Food was tasty and decent servings(average 50kuai/dish). Infinity pool was fantastic. Views from the pool and from our room were beautiful and peaceful. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Particularly, Frankie. He was extremely friendly, very accommodating. We even got a free upgrade. Frankie was also very helpful with any questions we had and knowable about the park. He helped with free transfers to and from the park, also took us to get covid tests when we needed them. His english was excellent too.

Two minor issues. 1. There are two pools, with a large pool specifically for children. I’d like this to be more enforced by staff, only having children at the other pool for limited times. When we arrived in the afternoon, there were several groups of children in the infinity pool yelling and screaming, detracting from the peacefulness of the room. At 8 AM, more screaming started. By 8:05, the noise had stopped, so I assume staff did something on this occasion. The children’s pool is the perfect solution to this, just more follow through needed. 2. I was traveling with my Hong Kong partner who can speak Mandarin. So even though the room was reserved under my name, nothing was communicated through me. When I asked another front desk staff member if he could speak English, he said he could. I’d suggest that for English-speaking guests, they use the English speaking staff to check the person in. The guy who picked us up, checked us in, and toured us through the proper spoke only Mandarin the whole time. Being in China, I normally have no issue with this, if there aren’t any English speakers around. But since there was at least one staff member, it would have been nice to know what was being said at/about this beautiful place.

We stayed in the room overlooking the infinity pool with absolutely stunning views. Liked the room, too, unique with 5 star comforts and any requests, just a WeChat message away. Were there for a Saturday night barbecue that was decently tasty. Splashed around in the pool drinking wine after the meal and had a lovely evening.
