Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

South AfricaWe booked through booking.com expecting to pay price as advertised on booking.com plus taxes. Not only do they take the total amount as deposit on your card on arrival only to be returned 7 working days later but on payment rate s 25% more. We questioned this but staff cannot speak English, use translator on phones and could not give us a explanation. Paying so much more us false advertsing and puts you off supporting them again. We wont be returning.
We have stayed in this hotel before when it as part of Holiday inn. It has gone through a nice revamp. Interior freshened up

MalaysiaThe surrounding roads to the hotel area are narrow, congested and messy. Entrance to the hotel is congested as well due to the on-going road repairs/constructions. Was concern about safety in the event of a fire outbreak.

And unable to have rooms side by side though both rooms under same booking. Toilet of one room had a smell. Not many hooks for hanging clothes. Another room Aircon doesn't seem to be working, room was really warm.
