Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaIt was a pitty that the pool and the hot tube were not ready to be used.
Very good chinese style breakfast. The staff was very kind and helped us with every question we had throughout our stay. The hotel own e-shuttel was always available to take us to the ferry point. We also had dinner at the hotel, which was delicious. Communication with the staff was done via WeChat, because of the inbuilt translation function. It worked really well. The room was huge and the bed very comfy. There was also a comfy sofa with tea pottery and black tea to do your own tea ceremony. The TV came with a chinese on-demand app. There were lot of English movies (a good mix of Netflix, Prime and Disney+) available, that was great. We only had to translate the menu on our own, but that was not a big issue. We could easily hike up to the sightseeing platform at Xiangong Hill, took us only 1h to get there, easy hike. To reach the city it is necessary to cross the river with a ferry, which runs every few minutes during daytime. Costs 5 yuan per person per direction. We arrived at Guilin by plane, the hotel organised us a fixed rate pick up and it worked very smooth! The highspeed trainstation is roughly 30 min away, to get there from the hotel, we had to take the e-shuttle, then the ferry and then a taxi. Everything was prearranged by the hotel and we were also helped with our luggage till we were at the taxi! Perfect support, no need to worry about missing the train.

Hong KongNothing to fault really, but just to note that having no door to the bathroom is one of those modern flow design ideas that just doesn’t work for us. Food was great if you like very local Chinese food but there wasn’t a huge selection, although it was easy enough to eat at the Rosewood Cafe in Xingping old town. Note also that it takes about 15 mins to get to the pier and you have to take a ¥5 boat ride (5mins) across the river to get to the peninsula that the property is on. The hotel picks up at the other side and it’s another 5 mins drive.
An oasis set in the most picturesque peninsula - beyond expectations and of high quality build and design. The owner Mrs Zhou was the architect and designer. She also is an avid geologist and will take you on a knowledgeable hike. She and the staff did their utmost to ensure our comfort and took great care of us. You can feel that they worry about all the details, and anything they don’t get right, they will do their best to fix.

GermanyNothing, everything was great! However, there is no continental breakfast, you better like Chinese food.
A marvellous spot with a great view! The room was super comfortable and spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace offers splendid views of the mountains. The hotel offers free transfer with the electric car to the ferry to Xingpning. And Jong, the owner, gave a tour of the hotel, because there are some amazing pieces of art hidden there. Furthermore the hotel offers a lot of activities from trecking and rafting to fishing. Do not miss this spot!

SingaporeA little far from Yangshuo. Takes an hour to travel between Yangshuo for Liu San Jie show to hotel, a bit dangerous to drive on hilly roads in the dark with hardly any street lamps ( luckily we had a very good driver).
Beautiful hotel surrounded by beautiful mountain and river scenery (located at most scenic stretch of Li River). Rooms with Classical Chinese architecture and modern high tech facilities (love the high end Japanese style toilets). Sincere and personal service, all the staff and even the boss are special efforts to chat with guests personally. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner on the few days we stayed at the hotel. Delicious Chinese food with fresh produce from local farms. Staff woke up earlier to prepare breakfast buffet for us on the last morning. Enjoyed my stay immensely and hope to visit again. Best hotel during my China trip!

SingaporeLocation was a bit far from Yangshuo 1 hour drive, seems quite dangerous at night with hardly any street lamps. Recommend to stay at hotel at night instead of venturing out.
Absolutely love this hotel! Beautiful hotel, modern facilities and excellent personal service! Love the high end Japanese toilets in the room. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner during the few days we were there. Excellent fresh quality ingredients from local farms and food was delicious!

SingaporeLocation was a bit far, need to travel 1 hour to Yangshuo over hilly roads and some stretches no street lamps at night.
Food was excellent. We had breakfast (Chinese style), lunch and dinner on the top floor with beautiful scenery. Meals were delicious with fresh and tasty ingredients from local farms. Excellent service from the young staff who woke up early to prepare breakfast buffet for us on the last morning. Very sincere and personal service from all staff. Even the boss made special efforts to chat to all guests, showed us her precious stones collections and treasured paintings. Beautiful rooms with Japanese style toilets. Would have loved to stay longer at this hotel.

South AfricaWe had a wonderful week exploring the beautiful area staying in this hotel. Zhou Qion the hotel owner (and tour guide) shared her passion for the area and the surrounding geology with us, taking us out on trips to the different view points and sharing her knowledge with us along the way. The rest of her team were like a big happy family. Thanks to everyone for making our week with you so special.

SingaporeThe hotel located in a beautiful place surrounded by mountains and Li River. The owner Mrs. Zhou is very nice and helpful same as all the staff. It’s opposite of the old Town Xingping, you can wonder around in the old streets. But there are also a lot of activities you can enjoy near the hotel. The famous scenery’ The twenty dollar’ on Chinese Yuan $20.-paper currency is just outside hotel’s balcony. Very nice stay.

FranceSwimming pool was empty on arrival….but after two days, they weee starting to fill it up with clear spring water, it took two days before it was full, and finally, just before departing, I enjoyed it. It’s not really a reproach, but under 40C, pool is appreciated
As I wanted to relax in an exceptional site, I booked a suite. It was very large, very tastefully designed, super clean. The bathroom had a huge bathtub that we used generously. Bed was very comfortable and we had all facilities for making tea in the Chinese way, the owner is a tea lover. Breakfast was freshly prepared everyday,Chinese style, very nice. We had food most of the time, because food was excellent. It’s just one drop from attraction as river raft, fishermen with birds, view from the mountains are touristic city of Xingping. But totally quiet, on the other side of the river. If you like, nature, farmers, old village but also exceptional site seeing, don’t hesitate. Suite are a little expensive but really worth the expense… memorable hotel…

United StatesRestaurants in Xingping a bit pricey. Can't blame hotel. Crowded tourist destination. Very quiet setting at hotel away from crowds.
Very new, very nice hotel and great room. Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is easy, fun, short ferry across Li River. Views are heavenly. Xingping, 20 RMB scenic look out is a short walk from Ancient Town street and you can try the long trek up to Mural Mountain. Bring water, I got to the ferry crossing up river from Xingping, but can't confirm seeing 9 horses. An adventure and the views were unreal. Very hot in July 2023 and my USA bank card did not work in 3 atms I found in Xingping so bring plenty of RMB.
