The stairs to the pool are very steep so not ideal when with a small child. the pool area was worth the slow stepping.

We loved absolutely everything about the property. It was true to the name boutique which made our experience so special. The staff could not have been more helpful and wonderful, especially when it came to our young baby.

Wonderful building from 19th century whilest keep confortable standards of a 5 start hotel. Most importantly, gentle and staff who accomodated all my requests and helped me preparing a bday surprise to my wife.

It would be nice if the bar was open a little later for a glass of wine or a cocktail. We arrived one evening at 8 and service was already finished.

We booked a non-refundable double room and accidentally turned up one day late! The hotel was super understanding and allowed us to stay an extra night without any extra charge. The location was fantastic - right in the heart of the city - and walking into the cool, shady lounge after sweating in the streets of Cartagena was perfect. There was a good variety of a la carte breakfast - we were able to eat something different every morning of our 3-day stay - and it was delicious! The room was just like in the photos, the bed very comfortable and there was no noise from bars and clubs outside the hotel - we got a great night's sleep. The rooftop terrace and pool area were beautiful too!

There are only 2 sun beds by the pool which is understandable given the space. We relaxed on the bench seats instead which was an ok alternative.

Absolutely stunning property in the heart of the old town. The service was also very good with plenty of options for breakfast and the ability to have multiple dishes. The bed was probably the comfiest I have ever stayed in and everything was very clean. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.

A gem of a place with only a small number of rooms so you often feel like you have the place to yourself - including the lovely rooftop pool! The building is several hundred years old and the architecture and style is very special and unique like stepping back in time yet still offers mod cons and great service whatever you need. A la carte breakfast cooked to order in their courtyard was perfect to start the day. Unfortunately my partner was taken ill at the end of our trip and they were very kind rearranging our departure, making him soup, bringing water and generally checking in on us etc. which we really appreciated

Stayed in the duplex suite, the room was stunningly beautiful. Bed was comfortable and the staff was sweet and kind. Great location! A very good breakfast in the morning and a swim in the afternoon ... zero complaints.

This boutique hotel is an oase of luxury and confort in the absolute heart of the colonial zone of Cartagena. Only 6 rooms but all facilities as a 5* hotel. Staff is profesional and always attending your needs.

The breakfast could've been better. It was nice but I've had much better included at hotels in Colombia. I did like that we had the option to choose from both Colombian and other 'egg-style breakfast'. I was kept up one night by someone in a room across from us who was English and clearly working to English hours as he was on calls from around 3.30-7am with his window open. Was checking out that morning so didn't bother mentioning it but would've otherwise as my sleep was very interrupted! Otherwise I have nothing to fault of this hotel - I highly recommend!

I loved this colonial style hotel. Everything about it was beautiful - the entrance, courtyard, art in the rooms, rooms, high ceilings and rooftop pool and views. I loved the nice little touches like the beautiful printed bathrobes and turndowns. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. I just wish I had had more time to enjoy the hotel! I will definitely stay again if I get the opportunity!

I am so glad we booked this. For the last leg of our stay in a very busy (and loud:)) Cartagena, Amarla was sooo welcome. The rooms are GORGEOUS and the whole place feels as if you've just stepped into your own private mini-castle. Elegant comes to mind. Also quite:) If the staff or ownership is reading this I got the sense you guys could use a little more help(!), but I hear this hotel is relatively new so perhaps everyone is still figuring out the kinks. That aside, the staff helped my partner surprise me with flowers, and the breakfast is huge and absolutely exceptional. Plus, no one uses the pool so it's all yours!

EVERYTHING!!!! from the moment you walk in they make you feel very special. It’s very small and intimate and they really want to make you feel like you are at home. No request is too big and the building itself and the rooms are stunning and the roof deck small, initiate and just glorious.

Breathtakingly beautiful. The architecture and greenery was gorgeous. But beyond all of that it was the staff. The best service and attention I’ve ever received. My friends and I were blown away and did not want to leave. Thanks for the best weekend ever!
