How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The location is absolutely perfect and there is a free parking right next to the hotel. The staff is very helpfull and the restaurant is good. At night they have a cosy terrace with a grill a drinks. By the way, the beds are amazing!

No negative points to mention
Breakfast was complete, fresh bread, cheese, arepas, friends and eggs. Also we had a very early (before 7 am) breakfast that the staff could accommodate for us. Really appreciate the flexibility they provided us.

Shower was poor.
The hotel is in a fantastic location just off the main square in Salento. The breakfast is good with a choice of eggs, fruit and excellent pancakes. Salento itself is lovely and feels totally safe. As well as taking a Willy to the amazing Cocora valley do ensure you play tejo at Los Amigos. The evening barbecue in the restaurant is also lovely.

We loved the staff and the facilities, the location was great as was just across the Centre of the town and very convenient for food and transport. The breakfast was delicious and we will come back next time we come back to Colombia.

A glass of fruit juice at breakfast would have been nice
We had a wonderful stay. Salento was great and so was our room at the Hospedaje. The place was immaculately clean. Bathroom was great. Breakfast downstairs in the separate restaurant was nice too. Our room had loads of windows and being relatively high up, wonderful views. Salento is lively and the place is 2minutes from the main square but noise even at the weekends calmed down at 2200. One of our best stays in South America

Maybe the rooms facing the street MIGHT be noisy but apart from that-nothing
Very clean, very central but still quiet (at least during our stay). The owner or manager was suuuper nice and welcoming,we could leave our bags before the check in

Just a bit noisy being on the hill up to the main square (traffic mainly).

Very noisy. The windows have no glasses but only a wooden structure so the noice is not isolated. Unfortunately I could not sleep for the 2 nights I was there. The rest was perfect.

The size of the bed. My husband is really tall (1.90m) he didn’t fit. Other than that all was good,
The people! Gloria was amazing! I wanted to shorten my stay and this was no problem at all. She was so helpful and we could even leave our baggage after check out in our rooms she brought them to the reception. we could refresh ourselves before we left. There is an extra toilet and shower for after check-out. Location was amazing right next to the main square.

One street away from the center! Hotel has loads of stairs so it might be difficult with luggage’s but the owner helped us to bring them to the room. He’s a very polite man and know very well the city! Breakfast was good as well!

Our room was located on the same side as the restaurant and we could hear the music playing til late at night. The restaurant music stopped around 10 p.m. but some neighbors played music however the volume was low enough for us to fall asleep.
It was very close to the center of the town, just a few steps away. Parking and breakfast are included. It's safe the bed is super comfortable, the staff are very friendly and it is great for the price.

Staff was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. If you plan to do Cocora, ask about the bagged lunches at the restaurant. Delicious food and good vegetarian options. I would stay many times over.
