How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nice Hotel and well located just a few meters away of the main plaza. The room was nice and cosy. Nice view. Very clean. The staff was very friendly and was answering my questions. I liked the hotel very much.

It would be nice to have a table and chair in the room where one could work from a laptop.
The hotel is very close to the square where you can get jeeps to the Cocora Valley, Filandia, and coffee farms. The bed is comfortable and from the room you have a view of the town and the mountains. The room gets a lot of natural light. There is hot water in the shower (however the cold and hot water taps are switched with the hot water tap being on the right). The staff was very friendly. Breakfast is included and you have a choice of: fruits with toast, eggs with cheese and arepa, pancakes, or beef rib soup with cheese and arepa. All breakfast options come with fresh fruit juice and your choice of coffee, hot chocolate, or agua panela.

Everything was perfect!
This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in Colombia! The location is great but still quiet, the room was very cozy, spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing and Gloria was very helpful and a wonderful host! It felt like a home away from home.

Just a pity, cold drinks (like juice) are not included in the breakfast. Very slow and unpractical WiFi.

Our room has a small shower so it was a bit tricky to take a shower there even us (the minions 😛)
The staff is super nice, they are very attentive. The restaurant is great.

They were doing Christmas related Colombian party and it was really loud..... but I guess it was a special occasion.
Maybe one of the best accommodation that I ever stayed in Colombia. The owner is super friendly. One of the best breakfast that I ever had in Colombia for 10 months. Arepa and Caldo de Costilla were wonderful. Nice balcony view. Clean room. Cheap laundry service. Almost only one accommodation that didn't try to take advantage of travelers in Colombia. Really close to the center.

We had trouble with our bus and they waited for us until late in the night. The room was really confortable, good breakfast ans very nice staff. The position is central. We highly recommend them and thanks them once again for the wait and the help !

There is building work going on across the road which woke me up at 7am.
I booked this for 1 night. It was nice and clean and comfy bed. The breakfast was great too.

The breakfast was included but limited in options.
The property is located in the center of Salento, just few steps from the main square. The staff is very helpful and nice, we loved to chat with them. The room was cozy and clean.

The property was in a super loud area. I have read the reviews that it can get loud from the city but I dis not expect it to be that loud. We came to Salento after 19hours flight so with all the noise it was difficult to get rest. But I have to say that room was very nice and very clean

It seems all the beds in Colombia are real firm.
Great location, ability to store luggage, staff were very friendly, a nice hot shower. We only had 1 night here so it was great to be able to access Salento.

We didn't stay because the room was overbooked. They then tried to get us to stay at an inferior hotel (which they cooperated with) for the same price.

Our room was very small incl the window! be aware of the picture on booking :) - you get what you book. Unfortunately, we had 3x no water.. but i guess this was in the whole town. Also the doors are very thin and a little bit of a bummer that there is no loby.
Location was big plus, only 30 sec to main square, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast decent

Our room had no Balcony, ironically and the bathroom could have been better.
Location was great, the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good, you had a few options. The staff was great they helped us to get a taxi from Armenia to Salento and from Salento to Pereira.

Not all rooms have a balcony or even a window with natural lighting (check the specs of the room you book). The walls are VERY thin, so depending on your neighbors nighty activities, you may or may not get a good night's rest...

There was a night stand but no lamp so bring a headlamp if you want to read at night! The bed was very saggy in the middle. It feels like memory foam at first but doesn't rebound back so you wake up in a hole. Feels a bit more like a hammock by the time you wake up! They won't serve you breakfast before 8 am so youre on your own if you need to do on an adventure before this time. Breakfast is ok, they actually let me order off the menu once. Also, as a digital nomad I would note that you cannot have any web meetings that require upload speed on this Internet. But don't fear, brunch is near and will save you!
The rooms are very clean and cleaned daily. The location is right by the square!
