How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The location wasn’t great as it was a little bit far from the beach/city center. However there are many taxis, motos…etc. We usually walked to the beach and it was like half an hour.
Everything was perfect! We loved our stay! We stayed in one other apartments and it had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing too.

Location, nothing around it so no choice but a long walk or taxi

Pool is very tiny, really difficult to spend more time out there.
Rooms were spacious, staff very friendly and helpful - they organized a trip to Johny Cay Island on a very short notice, always helped with the taxi, etc.c Also no problem with later check-out.

Location could be better, shower siphon did not drain properly.
Amazing breakfast that changed everyday, good quality and size, nice swimming pool and great service from staff.

location is not near anything, and you need to ride a taxi anywhere on the island, even downtown. other than this, everything else was good

The hotel is copy and clean, and the staff is very helpful and kind. The breakfast is amazing. The hotel is fairly near the malecon and the beach (15 min walk). I will back!

The venue is very close to the airport, which is good, but for the same reason it is not the best option if you're looking to stay very close to the beach. The staff helped us book a visit to Johnny Cay, but the people we've been sent to didn't treat us well at all.
Very nice venue in San Andrés with clean rooms, good breakfasts, a staff always willing to help and a relaxing environment.

Rooms and bathrooms are small.
It was in a quiet area. He had to walk around 20min to go to the city center and beach but we didn't care. It was a easy walk. It has hot water and a nice area outside.

The hotel is quite a way away from the main beach near the downtown area, something of an impediment for elderly (or lazy) walkers. Within a brisk 10 min walk one reaches the beginning of the beach past the fisherman's wharf (purportedly the best friend fish in town). The entire island felt safe at all hours. For younger travelers on a budget, this is a reasonable accommodation.
This is an almost no-frills hotel, which is part of its charm. It is very small which makes it feel like a family hotel, with approximately 16 rooms and a small but perfect swimming pool to cool off. Breakfast is generous and delicious (scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, fruit). The rooms are small and comfortable. The beds are not modern but they are comfortable enough.

The room was simple but nice and clean. We had a problem in the shower (clogged drain). The breakfast was very simple.

Rooms were quite basic, however aircon in the bedroom was much needed for a good night sleep.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, ordered us a taxi to the airport before our flight to Providencia.

The stairs are not safe for the customers, one step was lost. The toilet was watering and making heavy noises everyday, they supposedly fixed it up but it was not fixed properly. The location was not good for access to the beach. The breakfast was not good.

A lot. To rate this hotel in the 9 point range is just grossly inaccurate. A hotel room without hot water, no showerhead, and non-potable water is a 7 at best. And they even charge for bottled water, when I'm not about to brush my teeth with non-potable water. Sorry I have to be negative, but for American travelers not familiar with Latin American accommodations, they need to be informed about what this hotel has and doesn't have. I have traveled enough in Colombia to be able to put up with cold showers and things like that, but the novice tourist needs to know this stuff.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The pool area was comfortable to hang out with the other guests.
