The place is isolated, with no road to reach it, so you have to walk across a field to reach it. One evening while coming back I was bitten by the neighbor's dog, and this fact ruined my experience because I had to go to the hospital to check for possible rabies exposure (again, doña Eugenia was sweet and available to help). The house door is always locked, therefore to enter or exit the place you need to call the owner. Sometimes this is annoying. The shower was quite cold (and the temperatures there are really low, especially at night).

The owner, Eugenia, is fantastic, so gentle and available to give information. A really sweet person. She even helped me with a medical problem that I had. Since there were no other hosts, I was upgraded to a better room for free. The view is wonderful, the place (full of flowers and cows) is idyllic. The center is just 10 minutes by walk. Excellent value for the price.

It's a bit hidden, you have to cross the football field. Eugenia is very responsive though, hence I found the place very quickly.

Very familial atmosphere, I enjoyed the conversations and the warm welcome. It feels more like a homestay than a hotel. The place is very quiet with a nice view. You can get very tasty homemade meals there for a very good price. Also the hosts have contacts to guides to the páramo. Highly recommended.

The water wasn’t always super warm when showering.

Eugenia was so kind and accommodating. You really feel welcome and taken care of. The room was small but perfect. The hotel is just far enough outside of town so that it is super quiet (with amazing views) but still close enough that you can walk to town in 5-10 minutes. The area is really safe and there are some nice restaurants in town. I highly recommend staying here when in Mongui.

The stay was great, felt like visiting a family for a weekend:). Eugenia and her husband are really friendly and can give you a ton of recommandations for activities in Mongui. Eugenia offers also delicious food, so it doesn't matter so much, you can't really use the kitchen by yourself. Also the tour to paramo with guide Felix provided by the hostel was great! The place is in a perfect location, hidden behind the football field and overlooking the nice hills of Monguí. The owner is an extremely welcoming lady. I felt like I was in my house. She makes amazing food, and I asked her to prepare some of the local dishes I wanted to try, and she was happy to do it!

Hot water is a trickle - you turn the water on the lowest pressure possible for it to be warm. You have to ring the doorbell & wait anytime you want to be let in (no key to the front door). Unexpected charge for kitchen use. Unpleasant lack of autonomy in the kitchen.

Nice house, clean & tidy, good bucolic location, good WiFi. The room was nice, cozy & comfortable. However, I found the hostess very over-bearing. On Booking, it states there is a communal kitchen and I made my booking in part because of that. When I tried to use it the first time to boil water for coffees, I got the distinct impression I was stepping on toes. So I confirmed that the kitchen was communal, as per the listing. She said yes, but I needed to pay 5,000 for the gas (not stated anywhere when booking). Fine. Then she said we weren’t allowed to drink our coffees in our rooms. Fine. When I tried to use the kitchen later, I again felt uncomfortable as she came swooping in to help me (which I didn’t need). Kitchen was locked in the AM the next morning. Any time the hostess heard someone in there, she would come rushing in. I’d like to say it was out of kindness to help me find things, but it really didn’t feel like that. When preparing dinner the 2 nights, she literally sat in the corner of the kitchen and watched us. In general, it was an unpleasant experience. I would recommend the place only if you plan to eat out or if you plan to have the hostess prepare your meals. I would absolutely not recommend the place if you want to cook for yourself.

It is difficult to reach. You have to cross a field. With luggage this can be a challenge. It has no kitchen or coffee making facilities.

The lady that owns the place is really super friendly. The toom was spacious. Breakfast was okay.

The host was kind but I had would be liked to use by myself the kitchen. The room hadn't a socket, you had to plug the phone outside the bedroom. The host offered me a tourist plan to visit El Paramo de Oceta but it was too expensive in comparison to other local agencies. The tour didn't include snacks or transport like the others, so I think it can improve. There wasn't light at night to get to the house easily, I almost fall because of that.

The host was kind and helpful to some needs after the tour, she has a good staff to help during the stay. I like the room, it was cozy, and despite the cold conditions if slept comfy. The place was clean and nice. The host worries about improving and that's nice, I loved the house.
