Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

EcuadorI must warn that what the comments said about the scam system is true...they legit charge you a pesos conversion that's not legal and fit to the current conversion. Don't let them charge you in dollars, pay in pesos, or you will end up paying much more than supposed It didn't have elevator, the place was very old, furniture was very broken and not usable. The bathrom was very old, it often had noices. Not to mention that the bathroom had electrical issues that could cause an accident as the electrical outlet is right to where the water comes from.
I liked how it was nearby to corferias and the room size.

GermanyThis is the first time in my life, that I write a negative review! Beware of this Hotel!! They charged me almost the double of the price, which was told me by Booking.com (including fees & taxes). I showed them the final price of Booking.com, but they refused. The first time, that I paid more then the price at Booking.com, their answer "That's how it works in Colombia" (It was not my first Hotel in Colombia, so I knew, that it wasn't the 'Colombian Way'). They got me waiting at the Reception for 1,5 hours. Discussing the payment, at least I paid the price, because it was 1 a.m., I was traveling more than 7 hours and needed to use bathroom, I said "Ok here is my card, I'm gonna pay it", but the receptionist didn't know how it works and was calling the Boss and trying yo figure out how it works. I told her many times, that I need to go to the bathroom, but nothing... I never had a Bad experiencie like this before. At least I was standing 1,5 hours, with an emergency of using the bathroom for the incompetent Hotel workers. I absolutly can't recommend this Hotel!

United StatesThis hotel scams its guests, canceling reservations as it fills up when it thinks it can fetch higher rates. Their excuse is that the guest's credit card is invalid. This is a total lie. They don't even attempt to charge the guest's credit card. Don't book this hotel because if they feel they can fetch a higher rate, they will cancel your reservation Son estafadores y mentirosos, cancelaron mi reservacion sin razon.

GermanyDirty rooms. No window, no sunlight. Cheap toxic energry saving lights. White stains all over the pillows. Red stains on the sheets. Urine smell on the sheets. The water in the shower was not warm enough. Mold on the walls and some surfaces, like in the bath. High humidity. The walls emit cold. Obviously integral heaters are not available in Colombia, but the walls of the rooms were emiting cold. It was cold at night. Strange smell in the room and gloomy atmosphere. The TV didnt work, only 1 channel. Not recommendable for western tourists. In Bogota you need to spend at about 60 usd to get a hotel room at radisson, hilton or sheraton ect, to meet western quality standarts.
