Best place to stay in Puerto Nariño! The town of Puerto Nariño can be noisy throughout the day and night with day tours, fishermen etc. But these cabins are far enough away so you'll get a good nights sleep. The staff are amazing, they'll do anything for you, even let you take the kayak or boat out for a spin. Elena, Felipe, Felix, Pacho and Leo are all fantastic people. Especially Leo who brought us out on many different tours. He knows the area better than most. We had such a great time there, they even named two of the kittens after us, the black kitten is now named Stevensito and the black/white cat is called Tarinsita. Oh and the monkeys, feed them grapes (uvas) and they'll be your best friends.

Nothing! We shed a tear when we had to leave

The hosts were very friendly, hospitable, and personable. You will feel like part of a large family here, and the other guests were generally warm and friendly as well. The Friar and Helena, as well as their nephew Felipe, were happy to help arrange tours for us as well as our boat back to Leticia (can be a bit complicated). The property itself is gorgeous, teeming with wildlife and pleasant views. There are resident monkeys, cats, parrots, dogs, and an owl that will all seek your attention lovingly. The location is just remote enough to offer accessibility to Puerto Nariño while still feeling separated from the outside world. The hosts truly care about their environment and animals and treat each guest as a close friend. I highly recommend having Felix take you on a nighttime jungle walk in search of wildlife, and if you’re up for a more remote hike, take the westward trail about 2.5km to the small community of San Francisco.

Wish I could have stayed longer

Where to start. Nice isolated spot right outside Nariño so you won't here music blaring from the town. Beautiful view of the river. Elena there is amazing, you'll feel at home immediately. Oh and between the monkies and parrots that live there you won't need to go to monkey island. Such a cool unique place to stay and so cheap...

When we disembarked off the boat from Leticia, somebody tapped me on the shoulder .... Martha, Martha is that you? Felix from the Cabanas was send to pick us up. From start to finish the service and advice were excellent. Helena even did my washing, offered us food, gave us coffee and water. They are enthusiastic and called us when the slog (slow animal), monkeys, toucan and mackaw arrived at the premises. They took us for shopping in Puorto Narino. Always friendly and helpful.

The kitchen equipmant was poor. It needs some upgrade. The staff doesn't speak english. So, We had to ask of help someone. The tours were spanish languages, so we had to pay the translation guide. The Tours were expensive, but the guid was friendly and helpfuly. Be careful! When we arrived, someone from in the city asked 50000pesos for the Tax. But it would be too expenxive, and It has never written for the tax anywhere anybody this area. Found out that, It is not tax, of it is donation. So if you can give some money, give you,but about 15000pesos of maximum.

The animals were amazing! Monkeys were very friendly and cute. The staff were friendly! The price and value was great! We've spent 2 nights there, this time period was perfect for this accomodation.

The owners sister asked me for change a number of times to give to other clients. It was small amounts but it started almost from the moment I arrived. I was paid back but it was in mostly coins when I'd given bills. I was also asked if I had bread or rice. She seemed unprepared for the things she'd need and I found that annoying. The bathroom was in the cabin which I loved, but it wasn't cleaned in the 3 days I was there. It's tricky cause I locked the cabin when I'd leave, but there's a lot of mud in the jungle and there should be a process for cleaning if you stay more than 1 night.

The other travelers were great.. it was easy to get a group together to share the price for a guided tour with Felix, the the hostel. He was great, really took the time to give us a good experience

I have travelled all around the world and this is one of my favorite places i have stayed. There are monkeys, parrots, dogs and turtles. You really feel like you are staying in the jungle. It is a 20 minute walk out of town but it is a beautiful walk. The owners are awesome people too. We loved it here!
