How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We adored our stay here! The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff were extremely friendly and the pool was a lovely place to hang out - very clean. The food was delicious so there is no need to leave the place. The chef even went out of his way to make our food to our preferences. Breakfast extremely generous. 10/10

This place is a hidden gem! It is safe, comfortable, and charming. The staff are so helpful, kind and friendly. The pool is a nice treat. The rooms are basic, but comfortable.

Third stay here in two weeks, before and after Lost City hike, and after Minca (closer to airport for an early morning flight). As my earlier reviews: fabulous. The staff remembered us and gave us the keys to the poolside double room. Big, comfortable room, good shower, quiet hotel, great pool, lovely staff. Small food menu but fine. Plenty of restaurants around Parque Cundi right outside the hotel. Good to sit in in the evening and people watch.

For some travellers the fact the hotel is not near the waterfront may be a disadvantage (short taxi or twenty minutes walk), but we wanted peace and quiet, and a long lie down!
A very tranquil courtyard style small hotel on the outskirts of Santa Marta town. Spacious, clean rooms, our king room looked out onto the gorgeous swimming pool. There is another planted courtyard with rooms just as lovely. Shower excellent, bed comfy. Charming bar and limited menu restaurant but good value, tasty (western style food). The staff are very friendly. We found this a perfect place to relax before and after our Lost City hike. The hotel will happily look after your luggage.

Center is about 20 mins walk, but I didnt mind at all.
Great pool; beautiful boutique style architecture, palmtrees, close to many restaurants. Very helpfull staff.

There is some noise from an adjacent food hall outside the hotel and for 2 nights there was a lot of wind which seemed to cause a lot of banging and thumping.
Hotel Camali is lovely with a wonderful pool, really nice interior gardens and sitting areas. The breakfast was good with several choices, and the small restaurant serves good meals for lunch and dinner. There is water and drinks available on the honor system. The staff were friendly. It's an easy 20 - 25 minute walk to the Museo de Oro and centro historico. It's a happening vibe outside the hotel in the evening with at least a dozen restaurants of all kinds surrounding the nice Parque el Cundi, which is right outside the hotel and a gathering place for local families.

The towels smelled a bit strange, we got new towels every day (stayed 3 nights) but every time the smell was bad. I guess it was the detergent or something.
We loved our stay at hotel Camali! It was very comfortable and relaxing. The pool area was fantastic and the food in the bar/restaurant was tasty. Roms and the bathroom were also good size and the shower was great.
