Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAll good for me.
Perfect place to relax and hang out on the outside of town (45 minute walk or 10 minute mototaxi) A shop with most things you will need is just a 5 minute walk away. There was always interesting and friendly people to meet for the 4 days I was there.

CanadaThe location is a bit out of the way. Walking to downtown Leticia is possible but can be difficult for those not accustomed to the heat!
Quiet atmosphere, great value for price, welcoming staff. Located on the Brazilian side of Leticia which is interesting and unique.

United StatesThe road to get here is not crossed by motos or tuk tuks because it is very muddy and uneven. It was my own fault to bring such a large backpack, but it made the travel out there and back a bit difficult. This is not something the hotel could help, but I thought I would mention it. The place itself was rustic and lovely!
I paid for a hammock and was upgraded to a bed with mosquito netting. It was a very comfortable setting, rustic but quiet and directly in nature.

United StatesIt's a bit far from town, but not that big of a deal because you can get a mototaxi into town for 2Reais. There wasn't anyone there a lot of the time, if I had a question I asked the other guests, might have been nice to see someone who worked there a bit more
Beautiful area with a lot of trees and nature, relaxed environment, everything needed in the kitchen. Make sure you read the message from the hostel for directions because you won't find it on your own

SwitzerlandI stayed for 5 nights in the hammocks in the garden and it was amazing. The place is a little walk from the last road but totally worth it since you’re nearly living in the jungle. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back there!

SerbiaCasa do Xingu for sure exceeded my expectations. The professor (Juan) and the girls (Juanda & Dora) are really great hosts. With Juan, you can speak multiple foreign languages, discuss many subjects and indeed have a great start on the Amazon journey. In the end, I stayed for a week more than I initially planned and If/when I come back to Leticia, I will for sure go there again.

PortugalFar walk from Leticia (~30min), the place is not well marked so you have to count on locals to show you the way. I was brought to the back gate and had to wait 10min for someone to arrive and open the gate. While the place is basically a garden in the outskirts, don't count on 100% silence - there're still construction works in the neighbourhood. Overall the experience was good and I can recommend it for budget travelers, just stock up on fruit as those are not available in the vicinity.
Chilled place on the outskirts of Leticia, hammocks among fruit trees etc. A kitchen with a fridge is there for you as well as a supermarket nearby. WiFi is as fast as it gets in Leticia. kind staff. I enjoyed my stay.

AustraliaI know it's not something the hostel can control but there was almost no electricity the 2 nights we stayed. The minor consequence: we were unable to charge our phones to be in contact with tour operators. More worrying consequence: the light that should help guests find the hostel at night in the field was off so we couldn't find it. Having been unable to charge our phones we weren't able to call staff for help to find the hostel. Eventually a neighbour helped us call but staff made us feel it was very inconvenient for them to help us reach the hostel despite being at the closest possible landmark. Considering the neighbourhood's dangerous reputation and that the hostel is in the middle of a field, there either needs to be a generator for the light marking the hostel or solo travellers need to be very careful choosing this accommodation.
Loved the compost toilet. Considering the jungle location, everything was kept as clean as possible, great work! Juan Carlos, the owner, was super attentive for our arrival, sent staff with rainboots for us to greet us and lead us to the hostel because it was late and raining.
