Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDorm was a little dark and lacking ventilation in the bathroom, but honestly this wasn't a problem! Guests could have made a better effort to keep the kitchen clean in the evenings, so many people cooking one after the other that no one has a real chance to properly clean up after themselves. However this is not the fault of the hostel and as I say, staff cleaned it every morning and left it spotless!
Wonderful hostel in beautiful location 20 minutes walking out of Guatape. Staff are fantastically helpful and friendly, large property with loads of varied spaces for any and all activities whether you want to chill and read, slackline, play music, socialise, paint, do yoga/workouts etc. Location is beautiful (don't stay in town!) with trails to waterfalls and a mirador beginning directly from the property, and you can walk up to the observation deck to watch the sunset everynight or use it for yoga/stretching in the morning (or any time!). Kitchen is large and cleaned every morning, dorm was comfortable and shower had hot water. Well stocked grocery shop, about 5 minutes walking away, that sells everything you would need to cook yourself a good meal.

CanadaI wish the breakfast had been a little less expensive, though it was excellent. aside from that I have no complaints!
the meal i had there was wonderful! the perfect fuel for my adventures, it was also a nice short walking distance from the town, so it was nice and quiet, but not too far from the grocery store or any of the tourist centres in town. it was also nice to be so close to the natural spaces nearby.

United KingdomMy suggestion would be some time is taken to clear up some of the accumulated rubbish in the gardens…broken skate ramp etc. It wasn’t awful by any means but would just help ensure nature is looking at its best
I loved my stay here, it was such a wonderful hostel. The hostel is about 25 minutes walk from the town, set in the wonderful countryside around Guatape. Sitting in the gardens was so peaceful and if you wanted to hang out with other guests then everyone was very welcoming. Like many of the other reviews mention, the vibe of the place is just lovely. Note that one of the private double rooms is off the main common area so if you’re a light sleeper you may want to check if you’re away from the common area (I understand that there are some other private rooms further away).

GermanyNothing!
On my first night there was a random jam session happening, guests and staff played music together at a camp fire, but on a super high level. Besides that you get great info about the trails that are starting directly from the hostel and the vibe is just super beautiful. All the staff was amazingly nice but I'd like to highlight Oscar here as his lovely energy gives a special touch to the place.

Germanysome of the equipment (some guitars and the miniramp) were broken/needed new strings and the cupboards in the dorms were quite small, but all that didn't really matter compared to everything else.
just a 20 minute walk away from the busy town, in the beautiful backcountry of guatapé lies this gem of a backpacker hostel. if you search for a chill, easygoing place with good music, nice vibes, bonfires and down to earth, kind-hearted people, you will find it here. you can slackline, play guitar, play oldschool video games, hang out in the large area around the house, buy handcrafted things and chocolate, be creative in lots of ways, go for short but adventurous hikes, and have a good time all around. great diy/all together spirit.

New ZealandI think the cleaning could be a little better organised. Scrubbing concrete outside the bottom dorm before 8am while people are still asleep and cleaning the toilets and showers at 8.30am which is ‘rush hour’ is a bit frustrating as there are a limited number.
Welcoming and lots of different, comfortable places to sit. Nice breakfast. Great staff. Nice to be a bit in the countryside and hearing the birds! Short, interesting walk to town.
