Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hostel's calm and well located. We were very lucky with the room with private bathroom and kitchen.

United StatesWe extended our stay - see previous review. In addition, the breakfast was lovely, served in the pretty inner courtyard, and very good value- we had Calabresa (Brazilian sausage) which is now our favourite. Also our kitchen was very well equipped with gas stove top and everything we needed to cook meals. We had WI-FI that was a great surprise and was perfectly good for us. We highly recommend staying here - and the hosts are very helpful and generous.

United StatesOn a residential street where we felt very safe, especially as the house has gates that you lock. There is a lovely terrace garden facing the small street and we spotted blue grey tanagers and yellow tailed oropendolas! A 10 minute walk to town, 15 minutes to the parrot park. The apartment was big and clean with a very comfortable bed and good bedsheets. Also there’s a nice sitting room with 2 comfortable chairs, TV, and dining table. Lots of electric sockets and a good powerful shower. The family are very friendly and kind.

Czech RepublicUnfortunately there's a neighbour literally living inside the property that loves noise. The music was loud all the time and if it wasn't the TV made up for it.
Very nice owners, they do make an effort to fix things when they go wrong, like running out of gas and the internet down. The apartment had a useful kitchen, comfortable bed and a hammock.

PolandThere was no WiFi except few hours at night (3 - 5 am), when WiFi was very unstable. And it was not Leticia problem (in other places internet was available). As our travel was a little bit unprepared (last minut decision), I didn't have any offline translator and hope to communicate via google translator with our hosts. It didn't work and communication was very problematic. At the beginning there was even problem to get password to local net and it took ca. 5 minutes before we were shown the password written on the board. First we were shown very small room without window (our booking was for an apartment). After that we were offered an apartment. To be sure what is the deal we asked about price for exactly this apartment. We asked to write it down to avoid confusion. It was a bit smaller than booking price. I thought maybe they make discount because we looked very unsatisfied with no WiFi or is a price for exactly this apartment. At the end of our stay however our host wanted us to pay the difference. We didn't have any cash more as we were leaving to Peru and we negotiated not to pay because the object didn't give us what was offered in booking.
The apartment was specious, furniture old, bed comfortable, location great. It felt safe, but nos super clean. The lady host was very nice and make things easier. Her husband however seems to be offended by us not knowing Spanish and didn't understood even most easier questions. Also, he looks angry of the fact we used power socket near his desk to charge our staff (we didn't have adapters for Colombian sockets), which I thought was accepted by the landlady.
