Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe cat in the main building isn't ideal for people like me, who are allergic. But obviously, the poor thing also needs a place to stay. During the day, with the windows open, it was OK. Also, she doesn't go into the pods. Just be aware and take the necessary precautions.
This is a very special place, run by very special people. I absolutely loved it! It's much better than staying in busy Salento and you can still do the same activities. You just have to factor in the 20-min walk up the hill. From the road, it's very easy to find (public) transportation into town. The location of Kasaguadua is also ideal for visiting the coffee fincas. You can easily walk there. And there's a great little restaurant with beautiful views very close to the entrance of the nature reserve. I'm so glad I stayed there. Next time I'll stay for a week!

United KingdomEverything was perfect.
Fantastic place to stay a couple of nights deep in the forest. Not far from various coffee fincas offering tours if you don't mind a 30 minute walk. William was an incredible host, from the moment we arrived his energetic, infectious positivity made us feel immensely welcome. He cooked a tasty breakfast each morning and we spent the evenings chatting (he is very knowledgeable about all local activities, fincas, bus options for onward travel etc.) and drumming. His humour and company is honestly one of the best things about this place! The cabins are cute and comfortable, and the main house is beyond stunning, we weren't prepared for it when we arrived, honestly the pictures don't give away how uniquely designed and beautiful it is. The kitchen is the best we have had access to so far on our travels, the living space is comfortable, they even have a movie room and a large selection of DVDs if you fancy a movie night!

GermanyWonderful calm lodge in the middle of nature, with everything you need to relax. William was an excellent host who was eager to share information about the area, for example where to go for a good coffee tour. You can hike around the lodge to a nearby river and see some animals. Our hut was small but sufficient and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and they provide a lot of things to do, like books, a tv with Netflix, a chess game and drums to make music.

NetherlandsNothing. Important that people realize it is a 20min walk to the place through vegetation though!
Everything! Amazing place that proofs that nature conservation can go hand in hand with an awesome experience for guests. The huts are beautiful and very luxurious if one considers that the place lies in the heart of 12ha of nature reserve. Awesome breakfast, and Carlos, William and Cesar are highly knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. Super experience

CanadaIf we're being picky it would be nice for the beds to come with mosquito nets as we got quite a few bites. But, we anticipated this could happen being in the middle of the forest!
Kasaguada blew our minds. It's located in the midst of the cloud forest and requires a hike to get there, which we thoroughly enjoyed as it added to the sense of adventure. Willy was there to help us from the day we checked in and was exceptionally friendly and amazing, despite our language barriers. We stayed in the chalet with the built in kitchen which was fully equipped and wonderful. The main lounge area (we'll call it the treehouse) was SO cool. It's amazing that this place was built from scratch and we'd definitely recommend anyone visiting in Salento to make time to visit Kasaguada!

CanadaIf you are in Salento you need to come stay here. My boyfriend and I have never done biotourism before and this was such an amazing first experience. Carlos was the best host we could ever ask for and was super accommodating during our stay. We took his tour and learned so much about the land and we got a crash course on how to be more mindful towards the environment. Overall everything was better than what we could have imagined, the rooms were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a nice meal, and all the knowledge we gained was irreplaceable. We even joined Carlos in mediation in the mornings with him which was an extra special treat. Thank you so much Carlos for such a wonderful stay and all of your help. And also getting to know Luna the cat!!

United KingdomNothing, just make sure to read the information like about the long walk to the property (15-20 minutes). The path is very steep and narrow, but totally doable even with big backpacks.
Wow what an adventure staying here! The walk to the hostel was so cool, and the common room was large and very relaxed to spend time in. The owner, Carlos, was really friendly and helped us with everything we needed including guidance about the local area. There is also a meditation building on the property and I was able to join Carlos for that. The small pods were very small but comfortable (and lots of storage under the bed) and it was great hearing the noises of the forest while falling asleep.

SwedenA truly unique experience in the middle of the cloud forest outside Salento. Carlos and Wili are both very nice, and will make you feel at home. It is recommended to get the tour with Carlos, he is very knowledgeable and passionate and it will give a deeper understanding of the cloud forest and sustainability. Also, it’s located very close to some of the coffee tours around Salento.

This was one of my favourite stays in Colombia, it was so peaceful and relaxing, you are completely surrounded by jungle but only 15 minutes from town, everything was clean and maintained, the eco-huts were very cosy, the breakfast was delicious and I was catered for (I’m vegan), the host was really informative and does a great tour of the property which you can book onto. I highly recommend this property!

United KingdomAccording to booking.com, we’ve stayed at 54 places, and for me this was the most amazing and my absolute favourite. If you want a taste of living immersed in the jungle and supporting a worthwhile project this is definitely the place for you. The nature reserve itself is incredible, as is what the team has achieved. The domes are so cozy, and it’s lovely to wake up to the sounds of the birds. The communal area completely surpassed my expectations- a large, fully stocked kitchen, wifi, hot water in the showers. I was so impressed by what was offered in a remote location. Above all, the staff are amazing. Carlos was so kind and lovely company, I enjoyed all the time we spent with him. Thank you Kasaguadua for an unforgettable stay!! - Elena

United StatesWe really enjoyed our stay at Ecolodge Kasaguadua! Perfect for the adventurer who wants a little tranquility amongst nature. Fun 20 minutes hike through the forest which added to the feeling of remoteness and overall experience. We stayed in the smaller ecopods and they were surprisingly spacious and we had no issues keeping warm or dry even in the rain. The host Carlos was eager to answer any questions we had and gave us some great information about the surrounding areas. He was even quick to answer any questions we had long after we left. Great resource and very intelligent guy! Would love to stay there again if we are ever back in the area!
