Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds could of been softer and more options for snacks / drinks if needed later at night. The breakfast whilst it was delicious with fresh juice, tea or coffee, fruits, eggs , bread or arepa could change variety after a few days.
Arrival at night with a taxi was manageable but be prepared it is a HIKE up from the first reception area. The staff greeted me with a glass of cold water which I was super appreciative of. The dorm is small and only able to have a max amount of people in it at one time so this did mean I made more subtle connections with other fellow travellers, waking up and then having breakfast together etc. The private mirador is a sweet touch also but the lack of restaurant was a bit of a snag in the experience meaning you had to eat before coming up in the dark or order from the right place early enough if you wanted those options. A very sweet and friendly cat was always around looking for a hug but be warned I did get bit a lot in the main common room area especially at night but this is typical for the area. Very clean facilities, fresh towels and laundry that was cleaned adequately.

GermanyThe mattrasses were a bit too hard for us, but that's the only thing we had to complain about.
The house is beautiful, very clean and with nice interior. Because it is also a coworking space they offer a big public space and a good kitchen. The best is the view from the hammock or the table at the veranda! There you can enjoy the included breakfast, which was really good (good coffee). Be aware that you have to walk 5 to 10 min up the hill from the "town" to the finca.

Netherlands- It's up a hill (7 minute hike) with no neighours so it's very quiet and peaceful - All the owners and staff are super friendly - Clean and comfortable room that's cleaned each day - Brilliant viewpoint to see the sunset - Nice outdoor dining/chill-out area with views of the mountains and Santa Marta - They can have food delivered to the place if you don't want to walk into town - Well equipped kitchen for cooking any type of meal There's not many people staying and no activities organized but for me and most people we really loved this because it was a perfect place to really relax, enjoy nature and just move at a very slow pace. I booked 2 nights but stayed 5 and was very sad to have to leave.

GermanyNothing negative to add here. As others have mentioned, the finca is located up a hill, and you will need to walk a few minutes along the main road from Minca's center and then 10min more up a private road. It's well worth it and if you feel lazy you can either take a moto taxi or even order food up there.
Beautifully located an a hill, with a safe distance from the hustle and bustle of Minca, this Casa Quinta is the perfect spot for everyone looking for a place to relax. It has a nice outdoor lounge area with hammocks, a private mirador 5min up the hill to watch the sunset, a beautiful garden, a well equipped kitchen, a bar in the afternoon, nice rooms, and friendly staff. Almost everyone we talked to wanted to stay at least a day longer than originally booked and for us it was clear why.

BelgiumWe literally liked everything about this place! You can live here for a few days in a cosy, but at the same time spacious house in a beautifull setting. The staff was super helpfull (including a map and explanation of the area), the shower was warm, the hygiene was on point and the kitchen well equiped. The location was also great, in walking distance of the center of Minca. To get to this house you need to go up a steep hill, which you can do by foot or by motortaxi (depending on your fitness level), but the view is worth the effort.

NetherlandsLack of English speaking staff. Although for most part it was ok as one person spoke English and was communicating via booking.com or WhatsApp throughout.
Extraordinary and unobstructed view of the mountains. Staff didn't speak English but were still very kind and helpful. Decent breakfast. Wifi was strong in working area but was also good in the room, I was able to video conference from room. The communication was also prompt. Very spacious and clean room. Due to the climb, it was rather quite. Good kitchen setup. Overall a value for money.

Everything was great! Staff was very nice and shared helpful information with a map when we arrived. They have a great breakfast that you can order for a small fee. 15000 COP. Fruit and yogurt with granola or eggs, toast, and fruit. Coffee and juice provided as well. Kitchen was nice to use as well and very well equipped. The hostel is located up a steep hill but not a huge issue if you are reasonably fit. They have laundry services as well.

United StatesNothing, I’d absolutely go back. It is definitely a bit more expensive than most of the other hostels I’ve stayed in Colombia, but for what you’re getting, it’s awesome, and it’s one of the lower price points in Minca.
Very clean. Quiet, mellow vibe. Nice, well-supplied kitchen. Impressive common area with a great view and indoor and outdoor spaces. Good wifi. Spacious dorm room with comfortable beds, good lockers, and a nice bathroom. There’s even hot water (though it was out of gas while I was there). Cool viewpoint up top, and a fire pit area. Great location. Close enough to town to walk, but far enough that you feel like you’re out in nature. Nicolas and Mariana made me feel very welcome and well taken care of.
