How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Sometimes there was no toilet paper in the shared toilet.
Sandra and Paloma are lovely hosts. Sandra prepared coffee for us and we felt right at home. I love their cat too. The bed was comfortable and our room was nice and clean. They also kept our luggage when we visited Tayrona park for a night. I would definetely come back (we actually did!). Amazing price.

We spent a whole week at this lovely property! The owner, Sandra and her daughter were such lovely and kind hosts. The room was very comfortable and clean, well-kept bathroom and good wifi. We were also able to get our washing done here for a good price, and although the kitchen is private they allowed us to use it for some small things. The perfect place to get some good rest. Thank you so much for our time here 🥰

Nothing to say on this point. But keep in mind that this is a low-budget, family run business. It is not a 5 star hotel. Saying this is the best place with the relation cost-value that I experience. An oasis for the experienced traveler.
Everything on my stay was very enjoyable. I needed a place to rest and enjoy Palomino and to visit the region and this was it. The vibe that it is a home more than a hotel is great, and the people are excellent

It's not the most comfortable hostel we've stayed in but I think they are in the process of improving it :) The rooms could be given a bit more love but the essential is here.
The staff (Paloma, Sandra, her mother, and Elias) were amazing! Very nice people. We ate there for a week every day and the food was very good and cheap. I felt very comfortable there, a very quiet place.

Everything was perfect
This was the perfect place to stay in Palomino. Amazing price for a spacious private room with bathroom and away from all the noise of the main street. Palomino is small too, so you can walk everywhere easily. The family who owns Paloma Café is very lovely and will make you feel super comfortable! I would’ve probably stayed longer if I had had more time.

The boy that hangs out there, not sure what his relation is to the family, was aloof and rude.
The family that runs this place is very sweet. There are certain things that need to improve for sure, but I'm sure it will in time. Thank you Sandra, the angel without wings for your kindness and empathy. I am from Turkey and am quite sad about the recent earthquake, so she was extra nice to me. God bless you and your family.

The whole family is super friendly and welcoming! Some of them also speak english. Sadly we had a bad stomace and felt realy bad. The owners took care of us. They cooked us some food and bought us something to drink in palomino so we could rest. I realy recomend that place and would stay here again!

the rooster next door starts the show way too early. the plastic cover on the matrace is a bit annoying.

There is no door to the bathroom, if you are sharing a room you better be comfortable with each other.
Very fresh and clean rooms with cute decorations. Excellent service! The owner is the sweetest woman, very nice and helpful. Despite being delayed a lot by bus and arriving in the middle of the night, long past the time for check in, she stayed up to welcome us.

The first room I got for 2 nights before changing was quite loud at nights (very loud roosters) and the roof was leaking during heavy rains.
The room was very spacious and well equipped with big and comfortable bed and middle-sized cupboard. The bathroom was very nice with enormous shower. Everything was very clean. Additionally there was a laundry service offered by the host. Outside there is a lovely small patio to sit and spend evenings. The host was just lovely and very helpful. She offered us a different, bigger and much quieter room with no price change. There was no problem in extending the stay for 2 more days. Unfortunately I was sick during my stay and had bad sun burn, but the host prepared for me everyday a fresh aloe vera and offered me some medications as a gift - such a caring person!!

There was no mirror in the bathroom. Had to ask for bed sheets, toilet paper. Took a while to pay for the reservation. Overall it's a nice place to stay but not for long.

The bathroom wasn't clean for all the time I stayed there. They didn't clean it up. It was a shared bathroom.
The place is really nice! I liked it. The beds and everything are okay.
