What a fantastic hostel! Definitely made exceptional by the owners. Such a lovely couple. They will assist you with all your trips and activities, prepare a tea/coffee in the mornings and are just genuine, great people who know what they're doing. We felt right at home. Thank you!

Everything was great, we felt like home and as if we were part of family. Room was comfortable with warm blankets, bathroom was very clean and there was hot shower. Location is also perfect because it is really close to the bus terminal and viewpoint. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Just after we checked in, they explained us in details how to see the Cocora Valley and they recommended good places in the town. Definately recommend this place! :)

Nice hostel close to the center and still in a calm street. The host/owner is extremely helpful and did her best to make you feel confortable. She also gave useful recommendations about the area. If I ever come back to Salento, I would chose this place again.

Everything was great. Marta and Hugo are super nice hosts, always helpful and gave us a bunch of detailed tips about salento, where to eat, how to get around, valle de cocora and the coffe tours. The room was clean and cozy, as was the bathroom. They provide a simple but delicious breakfast with great coffee and bread. Near the central plaza and bus terminal. Great value for money, recommend this 100%!

The water in the shower goes hot and cold but it was not a big problem. At least there was hot water!

Absolutely perfect stay! The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. One of my favourite stays in Colombia. Every day the hosts gave me recommendations on places to visit, the costs and how to get there. It’s also very close to restaurants and the main plaza. Quiet at night.

There was no real area to hang out for a while which just wasn't what we needed. The laundry was kind of pricy (4000 COP per kg, drying included), but it was done for you and he even sorted our socks which was really cute.

The hostal is family-owned. The owners were very sweet and caring, very helpful and answered all our questions very patiently. They both speak a little bit of english so we made it work somehow, they really tried their best.

We had a great time at this hostel. The family was very accommodating and appreciated the breakfast which they additionally provided each morning (some fresh pastry with tea or coffee). The location we loved as it was not in the centre but just a few blocks away from the crowd and all the amenities we need such as supermarket, laundry, and good (cheaper) restaurant which btw, Marta will recommend you without asking :) We were working online (teaching languages) and there was no problem with the connection. We have met other nice travellers too but it wasn't really a big, crowded hostel atmosphere, it felt like more of a "homestay" which we appreciated. The hot shower was excellent as Salento is a pretty cold place in the beautiful Andes.

If you look for luxury or you want to party there or you expect to have hotel conditions - don't even think about it, BUT...

If you want to be part of the real family from Salento in traditional house and with the most wonderful hospitality - it is the place you need to choose. We booked it for one night only and stayed additional two. Highly recommend such nice and kind hosts!!!

The staff we're really helpful and friendly, the house itself is beautiful, there's a smoking area which is not to be taken for granted in Colombia for smokers. The cat was very friendly too. We got great advice on where to go too, prices, restaurants etc.

We booked a room with 2 beds at a higher rate than a 1 bed room specifically because we needed two beds (my partner is recovering from surgery and moves a lot at night). The booking specifically states that there are two beds included. When we arrived the husband was incredibly aggressive and told us we weren’t allowed to use the 2nd bed or we would be charged double. I showed him the booking and he continued to aggressively tell us that it cost more to wash the sheets and we couldn’t use it and the room was for a family and we were only 2 people and didn’t need it. He then began to berate us while explaining how to use the showers (5minutes only) and the towels. We felt so uncomfortable the entire time we stayed there and wish we hadn’t booked there. We felt they are dishonest on the booking site and change when you arrive to charge you more.

The bathroom is not a private bathroom, false advertising. The owners seemed really nice at first but we couldn't shake the feeling that they didn't want us there. Then on the day we were checking out they were waiting at our door hurrying us up to get out 5 minutes before checkout. While I was taking the bags out my partner wanted to have a quick shower, he was told he couldn't because it was past checkout even though we still had 5 minutes left. We left our bags there for the day but were told we had to stay out of the house until we were collecting our bags to go. Finally when we did go get our bags I wanted to use the toilet before we got on the bus and the old man was banging on the bathroom door telling me I could not even use the toilet. He was just rude and it made us regret staying there. At the end of it all we really had a sour taste in our mouths and it ruined our overall thoughts of Salento.😐

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's also spacious and generally in a good location for getting to the main square.

The man has weird mood swings and made us feel unwelcomed. When we arrived, he almost shouted at us for not telling them our arrival time in advance, even though we did put it on the booking. The next day he was totally nice. The day after he told us very aggressively, that we (a couple) are not allowed to kiss eachother in the public rooms of the hostal and he referred to a poster about child abuse and child prostitution. There was absolutely no sense or connection in that and we didn‘t do anything inappropriate.

It‘s very clean, in a good location and the woman is super sweet and kind.

At first both the owners were very friendly and helpful, but sadly after two days we could see it was all a front. Especially the man, as he became rude and impolite with us for no specific reason. Just one example was that he shouted at us (two young girls) because we took two (very quick) showers on one of the days, but never told us beforehand that we shouldn’t be doing that. On checkout, we were told to leave (rudely, by the man) the whole building at 11am, even from the common area, which I have never had to do in my 4 years of travelling. The woman stayed smiling, but after all this we were unsure how genuine it was. It is a shame it ended like this as we are always very polite, friendly and tidy guests. Just to note- keep an eye on your belongings, even when you feel comfortable in a family environment.

Nothing. It was a terrible place .

They advertise room with bathroom and patio. None of that. The bathroom is outside the room and disgusting. I had no patio. My room was so cold I have to sleep with 3 sweaters and jogging pants. That house is not isolated. The lady wear her winter coat inside and I have to go take a shower. I freeze. In the morning can’t go out to bed it was about 15 degree in the room. Room was dirty and disgusting. The smell of the blanket was terrible. Those blanket have never been wash for years . I asked a refund for my second night. They reimburse me and then complaint about me at booking they wanted their money back. Lolllllll. The spring of the bed was on my back all night. They mislead people saying you have a private bathroom. That is not true. No bathroom in the bedroom. Dishonest people .

Damp rooms! The smells is unpleasant, and as someone with asthma, it was difficult to stay in the room long periods time. Especially the room without a window.

Easy property to find. Well equipped kitchen with filtered water bottle to use. Above all, the hospitality and information given to us from Martha, was priceless, she showed us how to do coffee farms and cócora valley without having to book with a private tour company, the stay was worth it just for this.
