Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFood was not great, expensive and there aren’t really other options. Also have to limit what you bring as boat ride limits it.
The island is small so be prepared to just stay at resort. Room was fantastic

PeruThe boat system they have with Rutas de Mar is less reliable in terms of timetables than they like to admit, so give yourself plenty of time if you have a plane to catch on the day of the departure. Buffet is a bit pricy for the quality of food, but the menu food is quite nice. I hope that through time the benefits of having three luxury hotels on a small 30 hectares island will be more visible on the small crowded native community at Puerto Caracol.
The place is just superb, a real gem in the San Bernardo archipelago. A beautiful paradise in the middle of the Caribbean.

United KingdomThe only downfall is that the island is 2 hrs from Cartagena by boat and you are reliant upon the transfer companies punctuality to get there and back.
The hotel and resort is stunning and it feels like paradise as soon as you arrive. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful, the rooms are comfortable and the food in the restaurant is delicious.

GermanyThe food was limited, especially for vegetarians. We complained on our last day and they offered an option for that evening. The buffet is a little overpriced, especially because you can’t get as much as you want, you can only go once for the main dishes. The food and drinks offered at the bar are average, but the prices here are okay. English-speaking staff was very rare, which made it a bit difficult every now and then.
The beach and the surrounding area/island was beautiful and quiet. The rooms were great - spacious and clean and we had a very nice view. They also have a variety of games to play, for the case that it does get boring. The island is very small and quiet, there is not much to do apart from relaxing and enjoying the beach - which is nice.

ThailandOnly thing we thought was slightly sub-standard was the food. The quality to price ratio wasn't great. I understand it's an isolated location and produce is limited but still felt it could be of higher quality for the price.
We loved the location of the property, it was exactly what we wanted for the tropical island experience. Staff we're very friendly and room was very clean and comfortable.

FranceWe stayed there for 3 nights, and had a great time. Even though the weather was harsh, and we couldn't do the nauticas activities (I think it's kind of rare, there was a red alert ongoing that week), we still enjoyed the dancing classes, and yoga courses activities in a wonderful setup. Other than that the hotel is very beautiful, it has a kind of "club med" vibe meaning that you end up spending quite a lot of time in the hotel infrastructures and maybe getting to know some of the other people staying there.

This place was 10 out of 10. Total serenity, living in the nature, beautiful place - resort and the whole setting. Very clean sea. Estefany C, who works here, is the most amazing person - kind, helpful, positive, she made our excellent stay even better.

FranceThe snorkeling activity was a bit disappointing: lots of white coral unfortunately.
We liked: - a lovely & peaceful natural environment - direct access to the beach from the hotel - many relaxed areas - games - Cinthia’s activities brought a good dynamic to our stay (nice yoga classes, volleyball, dancing class) - Joan Andres made our romantic dinner a blast - the restaurant was convenient and the food was good contrary to the comment we have read (but a bit pricy compared to mainland) - our kiosko jardin was very good, especially the bathroom outside with no roof. - we have a nice short walk (8 min) to the fisherman village if you want to eat outside

FranceFirst, It’s a mystery to me how an island cannot serve any fresh fish whatsoever. The islands around are full of fishermen but not a single one works with isla Mucura. Secondly, reading the reviews I have trouble understanding how such an amazing place hasn’t done anything about their food. Reading that the food has been a problem for a long time. There’s nothing fresh and it’s all very low quality. It all feels a bit out old and reheated to be honest. We decided to fast the last 24 hours.
Isla Mucura is truly an amazing experience. We booked a bungalow on the beach and we had our private little beach (south facing) with a stunning sunset every day. We stayed in many bungalow like hotels in Colombia but this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable one. I had great contact with one of the staff members Estefaní, she was lovely and organized a late check out.

United KingdomThere could have been a big swimming pool for everyone to use as there is so much space - maybe planning is an issue.
Amazing location on a remote island 2 hours boat ride from Cartagena on a speedboat with shade- very fun. Lovely natural hotel, island is beautiful and bungalows are great and lovely inside. Food is good with buffets in a lovely open air restaurant with a lot of variety and the snack bar was really good for lunch and amazing cocktails at the bar where you can sit on swings. This is a rustic place, natural materials which we loved.. not too busy full of people We stayed in both the pool villa (plunge pool) and the sea view bungalows. The pool villas are bigger but further away but they do have a bigger outside space with a double shower. All showers / bathrooms are outside so you can have a shower whilst looking up at the stars. Sea view bungalow is a must here. In some of them you can walk right into the sea from your bungalow. Some parts of the sea are not accessible due to rocks. However there are sandy areas by the beach bungalows. The sea view bungalows are right in front of the sea - it was beautiful and relaxing. Snorkelling is best outside the sea view bungalows in the morning as the sea is calm. Fito plankton tour was amazing! If you book the snorkelling trip you will see lots of jellyfish (Medusas) they are harmless. Highly recommend coming here for 3 nights.

BelgiumThe food orders at the bar took a while to serve out. Having stayed for 5 nights, we also felt that the choice of food was quite limited. Generally, staff speaks limited English but they more than make up for it with their enthusiasm and friendliness.
A little paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property is very well maintained. It’s simply an amazing stay and the huts even have air conditioning!

United KingdomLovely island stay. Clear communication on booking the boat from Cartagena to Mucura when booking - the boat was really nice and smoother than expected. All the staff on the island were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a bungalow sea view which was great, bed and outside bathroom which was amazing with bananas growing above us. Options for lots of activities. The food at the bar was great, the patacones and burger were fantastic. The buffet was good, enough options considering there weren’t loads of guests. We were there over Xmas and they put on a free Xmas meal with entertainment - absolutely great. I would recommend staying here.

CanadaThere were a few small issues with our room - our toilet tank didn’t fill properly so we had to fill it ourselves to flush it. The fridge wasn’t working, and some of the linens were stained. I was also somewhat perplexed that on our snorkeling trip, we were not given a snorkel? Just a mask? I don’t think they had enough for the size of the group. The excursion wasn’t terribly expensive (70,000 COP) so it wasn’t a huge deal. We enjoyed the boat ride and did manage to see some nice fish on the reef.
We had a wonderful trip! The property itself is stunning. The architecture, design and decor are unobtrusive, modern and tasteful - 10/10. they’ve made great use of natural materials which blend into the gorgeous island environment. We also loved the opportunity to experience some local flora and fauna - the curious resident iguanas and the beautiful parrots that occasionally and noisily flew through. We stayed in an elevated bungalow which had a comfortable bed, excellent AC, and a great patio from which we could watch the sun set. I also really appreciated the lighting — lovely fixtures and warm bulbs — as that seems to be an afterthought at most places we’ve staged in Colombia. The beach area is great, with plenty of seating via beach chairs and day beds, for all guests even when they seemed to be at capacity. We appreciated the games strewn about the garden area (cornhole, giant chess and jenga sets). Food was good - we mostly ate at the kiosk and enjoyed the fresh ceviche, empanadas and shrimp. We took advantage of the buffet mostly for breakfast, and appreciated the variety and abundance of local and not-so-local options. Also - big shout out to the staff who were all absolutely lovely and patient with the fact that we knew very little Spanish.

United StatesThere aren't a lot of activities outside of the beach. The food can definitely be improved.
Outstanding beach, very private. The resort is big and very clean. Not too many people in the resort, so it feels very remote, which is what we liked. The staff was very kind. We were pleasantly surprised with the Wifi, which was available throughout the property, including in the rooms. There was one day where the Wifi was lost, but the rest of the time, it worked great.

ArgentinaPool is not for everyone, I saw it on pics so booked there cause my mom doesn't swim so she prefers a pool over sea, but it was available only for some guests.
Children care for free so parents can enjoy themselves, I wasn't expecting that. Huge space to walk, play volleyball or hang out with friends and family. I think maybe that's the only hotel in the island with that offer cause others are very small with no space or gardens at all. It's huge! Showers without roof were amazing, before bed taking a bath with hundreds of starts above is priceless.
