The pillows don't compress under your head. I found them too thick for comfort and slept on a folded towel instead.

I liked the grandeur of the "big house" with huge timbers in the ceiling, spacious rooms with high ceilings, a balcony above the courtyard to enjoy the morning sun, and a garden in the rear with comfortable sofas and hammocks. It made for good conversations with several other guests. The staff work to make you comfortable, bringing in tasty food from a restaurant and keeping it quiet after 10 pm. It represents a good value for the price. The location is convenient but noise-free.

Make sure you keep your balcony window opened at night as it can get quite hot

The staff was amazing and helpful. Such friendly and kind people. The location is perfect 5 minutes from the Central Park. Water in shower was warm ( for san gil it was perfect). Very good value for money. Good American breakfast including eggs fruit bread juice coffee

The plugs were not stabile enough and there are only less in the doorms.

The location is perfect near to the Center and the Staff is so helpful and friendly. The Breakfast was really delicious and every day another Juice.

Wi-fi in my room was weak and I had to go to the co-working space to be able to use the Internet. No hot water :-(. It's not too bad for a shower, but washing your hair is a problem. The pictures are too flattering - in reality the room looks different. That said, given the price, great value if you're a budget traveller

The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes from the main square. Fresh juice and a choice of eggs / omelette for breakfast. Excellent value for money Gave a short, but helpful overview of the town / things to do upon arrival. The room was clean

This hostel is really nice, clean, comfortable with several areas where guests can relax. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was super helpful and friendly. The location is central, right next to a beautiful park and to the cathedral. Excellent value for what is offered. Highly recommended!

Having to leave so early, we could’ve stayed there another week and enjoyed ourselves. If I had known how nice it was, I would have.

Only one thing. There was no hot water for the shower

Everything was good Juan took a long time helping us to get the most out of our stay. I think this helped create a good atmosphere where all the guests were friendly. All the staff were very good

Super nice staff. Well equipped kitchen and delicious breakfast. Very helpful as well for explaining what can be explored around San Gil and not pushy at all regarding guided tours. All in all an awesome place to stay in San Gil!

Nice and quiet place to stay for a couple of days. Friendly staff. You can book all activities through the hostel add to the bill and pay by card at the end. Good value for money. Plenty of places around for lunch or dinner

La Casona was a calm and inviting hostel in the centre of San Gil, with plenty of space to relax. I appreciated being able to book activities through the hostel and Juan was very helpful with everything I asked.

This is a truly magical place in San Gil. A big, beautiful and colonial house where you can meet amazing people, a lovely staff always willing to help and interesting travellers. The breakfast is delicious, as well as lunch/dinner, everything is cooked with love and fresh food - and cocktail made by Andres are the best!! The house is always super clean, toilets, kitchen and dorms are kept tidy and clean all the day. The hostel also organize Thank you very much guys for everything and a special mention to Laura, the most lovely and nicest girl en San Gil ♥️

The building is a very old one and regardless you’re staying in a dorm or room, every room takes the noise inside so it was really loud, I couldn’t sleep well. But because of the people living there, I didn’t want to change my hostel :)

First I booked one night in the dorm but because it was really loud, I changed it to private the next day. The staff is amazing, they are so kind and helpful with everything. Really thanks a lot to Emmanuel, great guy. Free breakfast every morning is adequate with juice and coffee. They have daily activities and also recommend you different tours. The location is just the best.
