Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe matrasses were very old and their communication style was a bit too direct for my liking.
Great location, beautiful houses with a green patio. The WiFi worked well and the owner let me use her kitchen to cook my own food. They can als arrange tours for you and you can use the pool at the other hostel for 5000 pesos.

Owner only spoke Spanish but was so helpful with laundry and information on desert tours. We left our luggage there for a night whilst we explored the desert which was useful. Cheap breakfast and whole stay was good value for money!!!

France- The staff is not very helpful nor friendly. No one was here when we arrived, we had to wait for an hour. - There’s only one key for the dorm, if someone in the dorm lock the dorm accidentally, you have no choice but to knock and wake up people inside. - The bed sheets were a bit used and dirty. The bathroom is not very clean.

SloveniaOur room wasn`t the cleanest, there was some sand on the sheets but since they dry them outside it might have been from that, The bathroom was also full of bugs and ants, but then again we are in the countryside.
If you`re on a tight budget this is the place for you! The accommodation is very basic but you get everything you need. I think we even got upgraded to a more private room (I booked a dorm) with a private bathroom. The breakfast for 7,000 COP was great and the atrium is like a little jungle with treasures all around - a very unique place indeed. It`s in a private home and the lady of the house is such a lovely and funny person. I felt very well hosted!

United KingdomLovely hosts, incredibly helpful and great at organising transport/tours to the desert. The room was spacious and amazing value for the price! The complementary fruit and coffee were also an unexpected treat. They also let us shower and store our luggage after checkout, giving us more time to explore the desert. We were also able to use the kitchen which was an added benefit!

GermanyThe beds in the dorm are pretty hard.. I was fine, but if you are sensitive to that, you should reconsider. I think the matresses in the private rooms are better.
It's a family home with a nice garden and different rooms around, which they rent out. Very good location and they also organize tours to the desert for a good price.

This hostal is super cheap and yet super pretty (with a nice garden space) and clean as well as well-located! It also has fans so the rooms stay cool. Very friendly staff, and the tours offered were a great package.

PolandAs for the room: there were no towels even though they were listed in the offer. No moscito nets. The mattresses night be too hard for some people, for us they were fine. General comments but this is not dependent on the hostal itself: it might get noisy at night, I had loud music put on next door at 2 am, the speaker was outside so it was really loud. We stayed in May - be prepared that the place gets really hot. Both outside and inside.
The location is really close to the main plaza. Breakfast is good and filling. There is a mango tree on the preoperty, we asked if we can have a mango and the owner offered 2 more. You can buy a tour from the hostal, which I recommend. There are 2 bathrooms for guests. A sweet doggie keeps you company.

GermanyReally minor things that did not really bother me, but you might want to know: Loads of mosquitos (not just the hostel, everywhere in Villevieja) Cold showers only (it is hot however, so it is refreshing) The ferry from Aipe only operates from 6AM to 6PM
Great location and value, nice staff (& dog), spacious and clean dorms, good optional breakfast that will not leave you hungry as in most hostels of Colombia, organization of tours for a really fair price, very flexible with the booking (bus was delayed so ferry was not in service anymore, so I had to stay the night in Aipe. Could change the dates very swiftly).

Very helpful lady of the hostel. Immediately explained how you can go in the desert and what it will cost, on your own with a tuctuc or with a tour. We expected it to be very hot in Villavieja, but the room wasn't so we were very content!
